For you guys that own or ordered a 2015 Tacoma SR5.

When you chose the SR5 package, did you also have to get the Entune Plus?

Or , can you get the SR 5 with just the basic entune.

    Thanks

Interesting question.... I would like to hear the answer also. When I ordered my 2015 I asked about the SR5 package, but was told I also needed to order an upgraded Entune HU. Same with the alloy wheels. In the end, I didn't order any of the packages.

The way I read it, if you get a base truck it comes with basic entune.

Then if you add a package like the SR5 , you should end up with a SR5 with basic entune.

I have also heard if you get a SR5 you also need the entune plus pkg.

Now that doesn't make sense to me, why wouldn't Toyota just added it in with SR5 pkg and put a $2000 price tag on it. It's the same outcome.

    Do dents and scratches count?
I have a 2014 with basic entune, steel wheels and the SR5 package. If that helps.

I hope to know the answer this weekend.

I am working this exact same thing with a few dealers out here. I have one that has told me I have to get the Entune Plus - the $680 add-on (because that is the only way he can order if from the Toyota factory), and the other two dealers I am waiting to hear back from my email today. I have told all of them that I don't mind ordering and waiting for it to come in with the options the way I want.

One of the dealers has the exact truck, color, etc, that I want, except that it has the Entune Plus. I am seeing if I can get them to come down enough to make it "close enough" to the price without the HU upgrade, and if so, we'll have a deal.

I am going to put in an Alpine Nav unit, so getting anything other than the basic Entune HU makes no financial sense in my case. I'm also going to put in Katzkin leather, the auto-dimming mirror upgrade, and call it my poor man's Limited Package minus the chrome. :)

I have a feeling that they are making you get the entune plus because Toyota got rid of the digital clock this year (2015) and it is now on the radio

Yea it helps thanks! That would be the answer to the question as long as they didn't change anything from 2014.

All i want is SR5 with basic entune.

yes, I may end up just getting the SR pkg. I just don't need a few things on the sr5 pkg and the entune plus.

I'm thinking you need to get Entune Audio Plus with the SR5 package.

This sure looks to be the case by just observation. I searched the web last night for close to a couple hours, and looked at all kinds of listing scattered across the US, and after going through 20+ pages of search results, could not find a single instance of a new 2015 SR5 that didn't have at least the Entune Plus. I found a single SR, and even that had the SR w/Entune Plus upgrade!

I know it's just observational data, but it sure seems to be adding up that they don't come that way, or if they do, it must be a very special build. I'm just so used to dealers "bending the truth" to fit their needs (what's on the lot today) that it seemed hard to believe what the one was telling me.

Hopefully I'll have more of a consensus later today, but it sure looks like the new base is the Entune Plus.

I was checking last night also like you. I'm still clueless. If it turns out that way like you think. I'm going with the SR package and also pay for the entune plus I guess.

Same here on just getting it with the Entune Plus. I penciled out on paper my highest offer I will go with my options. It is based on getting the truck I want with the Entune Plus, and then re-selling the Entune Plus brand new here on this site based on what the going rate appears to be from previous sale posts. If I can make all that work, in the end, I'd be several hundred over invoice, and around $100 more than I originally intended to spend w/o Entune Plus. I can live with that.

If you go to the NADA website, and price your truck it confirms what we been talking about.

It will tell you what other options you have to buy when you pick certain packages.

True car, edmunds don't do this. Also it will not give you a total cost for some reason , you will have to go back to one of the other sites for that.
