That's what I've been doing for a long time now. I do it the last 4 days of the month. That seems to bring out the best prices--dealers wanting to deal when they're close to the quota. I learned it from Fightingchance.com I believe.

they need to have what you want on the lot, as well. That's hard for most people on here who want Sports and ORs

The Costco auto program is awesome. I had already put down a $500 deposit on a BBP DCSB TRD sport loaded at msrp around $38500. They gave me good money on my trade though. But then I contacted a dealer through the Costco program and they told me they could get me a truck with an msrp of 39400 and my cost would be 36800 plus $300 dealer doc fee. They said that was about $50 under invoice. No haggling, just straight up gave me a great price. I went back to the dealer I had put the deposit down with and they matched it! Truck is on order. Should have in January. I'd definitely recommend shopping through Costco for pricing! You can do it for any make/model too

SeanNH2, where are you at? Many Costco dealers will not offer Costco pricing on TRD Tacomas.

Ok here goes went in today and didn't wrangle too much, talked about research here using the numbers from the sheet up on page 1. He came up with 33000 and I came back with 32500. Didn't sound like he wanted to budge much and I didn't push but I haven't put a down payment on it yet either. Their orders go in tomorrow but that isnt a factor if I'm waiting anyway. It will of course be on whatever the designated allotment list is so 6-8 weeks, here's the breakdown.

    Model 7558
    Access, 6cyl, 4x4 - $28284 / $30170
    01G3 Metalic Gray
FC22 Black/Carmel interior (?) I thought I specified concrete gray cloth but now don't recall. Is there an option to choose this or are they stuck with that based on next allotment # ?
    DN - SR5 Appearance /parking/ nav $1447 / $1625
    TO - V6 tow pkg $579 / $650
    CF - carpet floor matts $149 / $209
    shipping $900

That brings MSRP to $33554 / invoice $31359 not including the interior question, but assuming concrete gray. How far off is his 33000 vs my 32500 in the scope of things ?

I'm in central Illinois and this is the only dealer around for an hours drive or so. The truecar offers came in at 32400-32600 for my options but those are an hour away and don't have the best reviews. Taxes are higher and would likely add $400-500 so that might be a wash which I'm sure he's figured in.

What are your guys thoughts ??

I picked up my DCSB SR 4cyl automatic magnetic grey with a few options for $24,800 ($27,500 otd) they gave me $6,800 for my 2006 F150 that left me financing just under $21k and I pay $400 a month to toyota's bank because I don't really have any credit history. Overall I'm satisfied since they did tint and a 5/75,000 bumper to bumper warranty upgrade. And since the original window sticker price was $27,900

droseraguy when you say that their orders go in tomorrow can you elaborate at all? I put a deposit down on a 16 last week. Dealer sent me a build sheet but I needed to make some changes. Dealer said he would make the said changes and send me an updated build sheet when they received it from Toyota. He also said that if they can't change the specs this time, they would be getting a new allocation on 12/16 and that they would then order it to my specs. I'm in Eastern Pennsylvania.

For this kind of order, Your dealer puts in a request and Toyota responds with YES or NO to the request. They will sometimes give you as close as possible if they aren't planning on making that truck with those packages

I will be purchasing this week. Might as well give the numbers:

7568 DCLB OR V6 4x4, Tow Package, Carpet Mats, Rubber Mats, Exhaust Tip. 35728, around 550 under MSRP. Cathedral City Internet Department.
