Thank you to everyone on this site for explaining the tactics used to negotiate a sale. It really helped me.

First, I would read as much of this thread as possible. I used this spreadsheet that I got from someone on TW as a basis for my number going into the dealership. Ask the salesman to show you a customer worksheet with the out the door number you want. I started at $1,000 below invoice minus the equity in my '11 Tacoma I was trading in. Focus on that number. Their first number was $11,000 over my number. They can heavily discount the options. I got one dealership's best number then took that worksheet across town to the other Toyota Dealership. They beat the other price. I ended up coming in at a price $100 over invoice. Good luck.

Wish I had your kind of luck at the first spot I tried in the Bay Area, CA. It took two hours for a dealer to back off of their $3,000 markup for an Off Road 6MT w/tech and they refused to go any lower. Curious to see what else they would do, I waited to get their offer on my 2015 WRX 6MT w/17,000 on it. Initial at $18,000, maxed out at $22.5 telling me "its a soft market for the WRX." Right. I told him I had an offer for 35.5 OTD on another truck an hour away, and he basically did everything but open the door for me. I left, he's called me three times since. I'll give him another day before I call him back.

Going to be up the Oregon area this weekend and I'll see what I can do up there. The best part of me calling dealers is them telling me how in-demand manual transmissions are with their artificial demand of only carrying 1-2 on their lot.

Got mine for 36,900. TRD OR premium tech with nav and JBL, 4x4, with moonroof and tow package double cab. Sticker was 39,800. Best I could do after searching every dealer in the sf bay area. Most dealers would only go 500 off msrp.

You are a savior!!!! Thank you so much! This list is all i needed!!!

According to the list, it looks like the truck i am looking at is fully loaded (Code 7544J on my quote, equals 7544 + FP +TC + TO on the list you sent)... on top of that the dealership is trying to sell at MSRP price and that's why its reaching $38884 MSRP (instead of $35108 invoice) and that's why the deal wont happen with them.. haha

Ill check other places, maybe they will be willing to sell at invoice price but i doubt it!

On the list, is the first price column the invoice price and the second column the MSRP?

The column on the left is invoice, the column on the right is MSRP.

...^^^... Lotus. You traded off a WRX. Just curious why?

If I was interested in an inexpensive Porsche AWD. It would be WRX STi.

I have seen several people on TW who have traded in late model WRX oR STi's recently.

Typos from iPad mini but sill readable I trust

unless we live in Az and know the tax rate we would not know for sure if they are good deals. Only way to say is if you skip the OTD crap and stick to the vehicle price. Unless the tax rate is awfully high I would say no they are not good deals. For example in Texas I would target 10% off MSRP on first one putting it at $37,243 + TT&L. With 6.25% tax that would be $39,570 before title and license. With the trade the total with tax would be $1,738 less. So no not a good deal.
