...^^^... You got a good deal. The key is catching a Tacoma BEFORE it is loaded with a lot of regional and/or dealer goodies and to get a good price off of ... "true OEM MSRP".

I see this happen at some dealers, but you have to be in right place and right time and then negotiate a good price.

Yup, true. I walked in with my number below true invoice that I needed to make the deal work. Negotiated to invoice. Told them I didn't care about or want any options besides tow pkg. Went on last Sunday of the month which I used to think did not matter, but now believe it does. And was patient and ready to walk. Had to wait a month for them to get my truck. They have been a pleasure to work with. Very straightforward.

 

...^^^... The only thing that could have been better .... is a rainy night at 8:00 PM (dealer closes at 9:00 PM) on last day of month and make whole team stay past closing and you still would not have gotten a better deal ... you know the ropes ...

PS ... IMO ... last day of the month and dealer bonus quotes go hand in hand too.

Picked up a 2016 DBSB TRD OR yesterday with Premium tech w/jbl, Tow, all weather mats, tonaue, clear bra.

37,100.00 OTD but I leased 324 per month, 3k down. residual 28,500.

Before mats and clear bra 36,500.00

I'm looking for the same truck but most of the dealers around me only have TRD Sports. Did you just give them the truck and specs you were looking for, negotiate price then they found one at another dealership?? I was thinking of going the ordering route but not sure what that would do to my leverage.

The number of off road trucks built is lower than the number of sport trucks. Off road 4x4s are usually sold before they hit the lots here in California. I'm not sure where you're from but the demand for those trucks would probably dictate how negotiable the dealer would be willing to be.
