Dowloaded, I'm gonna try it on my system and see what happens.

My computer might be busy for a while lol

Fair enough, my system isn't bad but it is by no means a super computer. Let's see what happens.

Welp after a few hours with this crummy file i say its corrupt or was junk from the start. Who really saves files in IGES of that size? My guess is this file was made in the artistic/graphic side of 3d models, meaning it was meant for show and only that. Ive worked with over 2 gig cad assemblies and ran fine but we would never save in IGES thats a big no no unless of course this came from the artistic side of things. Anyways to conclude this, were not going to get much useful 3d models to work with, without either manually scanning/measuring each major component or have an ex engineer at Toyota hook us up with some prints. Good luck! I do plan on making an accurate model of the 05+ frame and bed and maybe cab someday. Till then were stuck in the mud here. Ill update yall when i get around to modeling those components.

As I've said before: The only accurate model of this truck exists with Toyota, and they're never giving it up.

Anything you find on the internet should be considered untrustworthy.

Correct but these days we do have the tools to reverse engineer what Toyota created. We physically have the trucks in front of us, just nobody wants to take the time to measure and model the parts most useful, frame, cab, bed etc. For my design purposes and im sure for many a decent frame model and bed model will go along ways for future modders.

I've modeled the parts of the bed that pertain to what I make for it, but that's as far as it went.

Just parts of the bedsides that I use for modeling my bed rack, side rail cap, outboard bike mount, and hi rise crossbars.

It's frustrating to find a decent 3D Model of the Tacoma. Imagine what open source options could be created if vehicle makers would share some 3D data to facilitate designers. Look at QNAP servers. This company took off like a rocket because they embraced the sharing philosophy.

I tried transmagic, Okino, CASCADE, Inventor, CATIA, Solidworks and AB viewer. The only one that gave me a lead on what this file was (Garbage) was Okino. In Okino the software of origin looks like TurboCAD. That being said we can be rest assured that anything related to the automotive world being linked to TurboCAD is basically inaccurate and garbage even if it could be translated.

I'm a drafting student at my local community college, and working on a project involving my 2011. Is there anyway you could share that file?
