Has anyone had any luck with this? I am trying to get my hands on a 3d model, but 2d side profile would work too.

If mine works out then I'll scan trucks at meets so I have a library of models. There's also some dcsb models for sale online for the file, but I'm sure they have some copyright associated with them so you can't do what you want with it.

Wondering if you were able to get anything?

I have noticed that the models sold online (that sometimes you can get in .stl) do not have much details, like they don't show the ribs on the roof, or antenna, etc.

Pretty cool scans. If your trying to be most accurate I would consider finding someone on the side that does scans. Here in Metro Detroit there are several contacts for this work. Afterwards you can build surface off this scan. Best tools are Alais or ICEM Surf. As a a auto designer I prefer ICEM Surf. If you dig hard enough you can find a bootleg download.

I'm no pro with solid works, but I got Hum3D to send me a sample of the IGES/STEP files as I was considering buying one for my project. They come in as surfaces which I was unable to modify or run any analysis on. Is this just my novice experience or does it sound like would not be of any use?

So , an igs/step might come in as a large surface area. Best case is when it comes in as a more broken up surface. Example, like a quilt over the vehicle flowing along large body panels and filleted at theological intersections. By breaking up into smaller pieces one can control the surface via control points.

Point being ,to manipulate the surface it is better in smaller areas. Depending on the software your using might make a difference on the level of manipulation.

Hey! awesome thread, Any chance these CAD files are still around, and still being shared? I would love to have the 2D or 3D views as well. Anyone having luck designing their DIY parts? Have some sweet mods in mind for roof racks, frame guards, bumpers, headache racks.

No one has gotten any file(s) together. I haven't had time myself. If someone could just get a steady camera, and an empty cul-de-sac, park in the middle and then take a picture from all angles you could build a CAD file from the pictures with

Yup, no such file exists.. I reached out to the places that have them for sale and they are just shifty surfaces, cant build off of them.

Anybody find anything? If I had time, I'd give it a shot but I can't find any decent blueprints.

No, nothing exists... what did you need? I have a decent sketch of the bed I did in solid works.

I was hoping to find something with better representations of the body. Most of the ones on the internet are either low resolution or aren't accurate at all.

I searched high and low, there are some that you can buy, but they don't provide a surface that you can do anything with even then. I was doing aerodynamic testing and ended up extruding a 2d side profile, worked out pretty well - advertised Cd is .42, my model was .47

Not sure whatever happened to sicki trying to get this to open on his friend's super computer... BUT, I have an i7-7700k, 32gb RAM, 1TB ssd, custom built computer that might be able to at least open up this file in SolidWorks. I'm also interested in using a CAD model, but like most other people mentioned that's under lock & key by Toyota. Whoever posted the .iges file, perhaps they can contact their connect and see if that source file can be saved in NOT an .iges file?
