    Ah. I thought we were taking about a standard 4WD conversion not a SAS. I can see the deleted wheel speed sensors being an issue.

    Swapping 2wd to 4wd would be more that a driveway warrior could do but a guy good with a wrench could do it with minimal fuss.
    SAS? That takes a different guy and... lots of unsolved problems and lots of money later... you have a 3rd gen Tacoma rock crawler that will probably need to be trailered to the trails lol.

    I think most people that can install a lift on their own could do the 4WD swap. It’s not too bad. Pulling the transmission isn’t fun but it isn’t too hard either. The CV axles fought me more than anything. If only someone would have told me about needing to have the c-clip opening facing down it would have saved me a lot of time and headache.

    As for the SAS, I’m still waiting for someone to come along and demonstrate to us all how easy it is. Finger crossed that will be soon then I’ll be itching to do that too.

    More likely because folks interested in that started off with buying 4wd.
