Part of it’s your height the other part is your leg to torso ratio

I test drove 9 of these before buying into the challenge. I can make do as-is for a few more years, but would prefer a cheap and easy, reversible mod, like shortened seat brackets. I'd be glad to buy a pair and mail them off to be modded if someone was to recommend a good shop.

    1) testdrive before buying

    2) trade for non-premium

    3) tundra upsize

    4) colorado/ranger/f150/ect

I'm too poor and repair shop challenged to afford an American made vehicle.

    1. Did so.
    2. Not an option.
    3. Will when they get redesigned.
    4. More trouble than they are worth, to me.

A bracket modification would scare me. Would that hold up during a crash? IDK. I think the best option for you wanting to keep the truck is modify the cushion or swap the seat out for another.

If you aren't willing to part out with the premium package then the options are pretty sketchy. Modifying (i.e. lowering) seat bracketing can be dangerous if not done correctly.

Have you looked under your seat? Not much room to drop the mount. Shave the cushion is only real cost effective option. Other option is get a racing seat...

I did the same thing.. Test drove a ton... I kept telling myself, I could probably make it work. Then I ran through a parking lot in a premium package truck before mine arrived. I nailed the headliner when going over a speed bump. I realized, I would hate to have to figure out how to sit all the time. I got the non sunroof and it's amazing how much more headroom there is. I don't miss anything about the premium package truck anymore. I would get a non premium package truck if it were me. A tundra would be ridiculously overkill for what I need.

What's it worth to you? I am average height, but the top of my hair kept brushing up against the headliner when I had a sunroof. Drove me nuts. This, among other things, I bit the bullet and switched to a new Tacoma. This time, without the sunroof. Plenty of headroom. Better feeling that the seat is secure with OEM parts than some garage-welded bracket. If trading in isn't an option, I would go the cushion shaving route. Seatswaps have their downfalls.

I’ve traded cars because I didn’t want to do an oil change. 56,000 miles and not fitting is a great reason to get a new Tacoma. Plus trade in value is so great you’ll probably get money back plus the new truck!

    Get another truck.

Your life is going to suck when you get in an accident and permanently screw up your neck because its slamming against the roof.

Removing the moonroof isn’t going to be cost realistic.
