Is it my cup of tea?

Nope, but neither is blasting through the desert in a 2wd truck with 20" of suspension travel. But I respect those builds as much as I respect this one. OP did what he wanted to his truck and he's proud of it, as I'm proud of mine even though it'll be frowned upon by some.

Questions OK... bashing? It's TacomaWorld. So many times if something is posted that isn't a crawler with all the same fabbed brand name parts as main stream, the hating starts. It doesn't matter if the thing doesn't work for you, if it works for the owner, that's what matters.

I take a beating all the time as I have a PreRunner. It gets old. Be proud of your rig. Quit thinking it's the only way to build a rig. Don't like a thread, leave it.

For the record, I think it looks pretty sick! I'd love to take it through a few mud holes at high speed... but again, that really doesn't matter! He likes it!

    The tow mirrors are badass.

I don't understand how you can criticize another mans build. His money, his truck, he can do what he wants.

Now time for that parts list :)

This is tw after all. If you do not have a 2 or 3 inch lift. Running 5100 or 883 springs with dakars. Then you are outcast for not being like everyone else. Everyone knows 5100 are the shit! cause everypne has them. And dont run spacers, cause 5100 are the shit! Dont plastidip your truck, cause 5100 is the shit! Dont even call your mom for christmas, cause 5100 arw the shit!

And you know this because you had the same lift? If not then it sounds like you're ignorant

Many years ago I built a CJ 5 Jeep with a 14" lift and huge 40" tires. Why? Because I wanted to, dumped a lot of money in it, wife hated it, kids didn't want to climb up in it, but I loved driving it to Pismo Beach and camping for the weekend. That is the only thing it was good for, and I loved every minute of it.

This truck with a 9" lift is fucking awesome! Let's respect the craftsmanship that has been built into it. Thanks.
