My tacoma was in a wreck last winter and the front end was damaged. The body shop had to replace condenser and high pressure line. A/C worked fine up until a month or so ago when it started blowing warmer and warmer air. I added some freon thinking it was low, but that helped for a short time and then warm again. I have been told I may have put too much in. My compressor began squealing so I stopped using it. I thought my compressor had gone bad so I bought a new one, but haven't put it in yet. Keep in mind these are the original parts from 2002. I read that you should replace the drier any time you open up the system. The drier was not replaced after the accident and I am wondering if it could be the problem. I let some of the freon out and the ac worked some what at higher rpm's. I have noticed seeing movement in the glass window on the drier when ac is on in the past, but now i see nothing at all. Any ideas?

You won't see anything in the glass window when you are full of freon, no air bubbles. DON'T over fill, that can hirt the compressor which is what I think you did. Let some freon out and see what happens. Get a low pressure gauge like the ones that come on the cans and start with the pressure around 40 and see what happens. If you can't get it working so-so you might think about seeing a certified ac repair shop. Be carefull!!!

still need to check what your 134 level is. It may be leaking out in a pinhole in condenser coils in the front of your vehicle.

yes, reciever drier HAS TO BE REPLACED, they did a half azzed job and I would never go to that place again. go to a "reputable" shop that will do the job right and have them check it out for you.

you might have developed a leak somewhere, but chances are its related to a clogged drier, either way you need to get the drier replaced if you expect it to work properly
