What did you end up doing exactly to solve the 2wd/4wd dash light error and getting your locker to work?

Just to be clear, you just hook the relay into the 5 wires as shown at the end and it’s that simple? Or is there a switch wired in there somewhere?

My understanding is that there is some signal that comes out of the 4wd Ecu that is an input to the main ECU or the skid control ECU. I'm considering doing the ADD delete and manual t/case swap... Ive read that at point you don't need the 4wd Ecu... But I thought I read somewhere that certain traction controls are dependent on the 2H/4H/4L. Is that correct, which wire(s) coming out of the 4wd Ecu carry the signal, and is the signal just 12v or 0v?

that is correct. They are digital signals from the ADD detection switch so very easy to replicate using just a SPST switch.

Thank you. If I do an ADD delete and the FJ transfer case, in my 2010 TRD Sport (no factory locker) I beleive the 4wd ECU could be complelty removed, along with the ADD actuator /switches. Once the 4wd Ecu is removed, I could wire position sensors from the transfer case to the dash lights to get the dash displays to work.

I thought I read somewhere that, in addition to sending a signal to the dash lights, there was another signal coming out of the 4wd Ecu that was used as an input to the main ECU or traction control module. Something do do with limiting TRAC or VSC or AUTO LSD depending on if you are in 2H/4H/4L. Trying to confirm if the 4wd Ecu is removed, will I change some of the functionality of the TRAC/VSC/AUTO LSD system unintentionally.

the traction control ECU will no longer know when you shift in and out of 4wd, so you will lose whatever differences it offers between 2wd and 4wd unless you wire in a manual switch. Myself, I've never used those traction control nannies to begin with or been a fan.

I looked at the wiring diagram you posted in post #38 for the 4wd Ecu. I don't see a wire(s) going to the traction control ECU. Do you know which wire(s) go from the 4wd ECU to the traction control ECU? I'd like to back probe them to find out what signal they send frim the 4wd ECU to the traction control ECU.

Anyone know if the wiring is the same on a 2020 3rd gen trd Offroad? Wires are different colors. Getting a clicking sound in 2wd, sounds like the add is partially engaging. I want to see what should have power and what shouldn’t incase it’s back drawing power somehow. Also, is there a way to test the add out of the rig to ensure it’s operating correctly?
