Are they gloss or matte black? I had a set of the anzo on my old truck but left them because they didn't match up to my new black truck

Just found this thread, so other than going all LED and custom black what other advantages are there of cutting OEM tails and modding them?

I wanna do this right the first time out

I saw your pics but never an output shot. Just running lights. They may be oem based lights but side by side the difference is basically nothing, compared to depo. Imo your lights are not safe with the reflector painted and would surely get attention from leo's here in socal.

Edit: saw the bench picture, was hoping for an installed output picture. Thx

Was talking about the lights themselves before the mod. Clearly those items listed are in your lights.

    Was never foggy.

I agree with Andrew. I'd rather have the OEM led brake portion. I had the anzo brand tail lights previously and sure they were bright. But you don't know the quality of them. And with the upgraded vled bulbs and the morimoto xdrl it will surely be brighter than stock since it projects outwards

Dang...silly me. I thought this was a thread about the Black Depo Tail Lights, not some commercial advertisement for some cracked-open, gutted, spray painted, glued back together, hoping they will pass state inspection and won't leak tail lights that probably also cost 2 or 3 times what the ready-to-use-right-out-of-the-box depos cost.

Besides, I can put pretty much any bulb I want in my depos since they are essentially constructed the same as the stock tails.

    Threadjack much Andrew?

BLACK DEPO TAIL LIGHTS FTMFW !!! :D

Is there something not right with the depo lights? That statement is an insult. There is not a damn thing wrong with the depo lights. Period. Just because YOU do this doesn't make it better, or legal. And just because something can be done, doesn't mean it should. Your arrogance astonishes me.

If you would like to discuss this directly, I'm glad to. There are multiple options for almost any modification ranging in price, quality, and performance. This is an open forum where competitive products are generally accepted when they are posted and not a Senate meeting with pre-specified decorum. Please PM me if you would like for me to provide substantial evidence indicating aftermarket housings are not up to the quality of OEM housings.

For the record, I even was considering Depo lights and almost bought a set. I just realized I would rather build my lights to my preferences with LED turn signals, LED reverse lights, and OEM LED components.

I'm not trying to start a pissing contest here. We are a vendor that sells automotive lighting and nothing else, so we need to stay apprised on what the differences are between aftermarket and OEM as we work to bring the aftermarket up to that level of quality. I'm sorry you feel insulted and would love to discuss further.

guys guys guys...no pissing contest. I Just reviewed the taillights that I personally purchased to put on my truck for others to see. No need to get all bent up about anything.

I'd like to apologize to you for steering the thread awry. Truly my fault.

Yes, the Depo lights are a great option to change the look of your truck with OEM-like style.

I could careless doesn't bother me.... haha. Honestly if I could justify the cost of the ones you make they would be on my truck already. They look great.
