I had a pair of these on my truck for about two years. Last month, the passenger side unit crapped out. With the headlights on, both units would go half-lit as normal. But when the brakes were applied, only the driver side would go full bright. The passenger side stayed half-lit. If the headlight were off, the passenger unit would only half-lit if the breaks were applied. It wouldn't go full bright.

I didn't want to risk getting pulled over so I put the old classic set back on. Now I got a set collecting dust in my garage.

Did they leak? Trying to figure out why they would start acting up unless a connection was loose or water was affecting a bulb.

Nope. I had sealed them with silicon day 1. I checked the connection and everything was fine. Whatever it was, it was internal.

    Shout out to OP--go dawgs!

Think I may splurge on these--better than (inevitably ruining) trying to do on stocks

I have a 2008 and I'm sure some of you that have replaced your OEM 2010+ tail lights for those fancy high dollar ones would just love to unload the old ones out of your cluttered garage for a small fee. Right? :D

Nice. A black truck really looks good with those.

So I backed up to my garage to see if mine were slow to turn on. If I push the pedal slow it seems like there is a lot of pedal before I hear the switch click for the lights but at normal pressing of the brake pedal mine come on quick and at the same time as the non LED 3rd brake light. I don't notice anything out of the ordinary

Exactly. If anything, the LEDs for the brake lights in these will come on faster than the incandescent bulbs in the third brake light, but you'd need a high speed camera to see the difference.

To clarify, do the turn signals and LEDs on these function just like the stock ones do? Might purchase some for my '15

If you're wondering about the Depo tail lights, there's no need to apply sealant to them. They are constructed very well.

    Yeah no need.
I am going 1.5 years with mine and still look like brand new with no problems.
