This is a weak attempt to rival against the Ford Raptor idea. I mean, its also sad trying to use the Toyota Baja heritage as a gimmick to sell this package.

You're better off buying a SR5 and upgrading everything. I wish they just made it more of an upgrade w/visual differences like the Raptor has.

Why doesn't Toyota upgrade the stock arms, uca, and better shocks. Different factory fender/flares with more travel.

They couldve came up with something more.

    I'm just saying.

Huh? I don't see anything additional that my truck doesn't have for that?[/QUOTE]

The lower, front, corner of the bed has more rock protection plastic than our short beds .

I highly doubt they brought this edition out to compete with the raptor...thats just stupid...im sure toyota knows what there doing......this forum is only a blip on the radar compared to the general public....give toyota credit where credit is due....there number 1 in compact pickups for a reason

^ Yeah but its pointless to bring some gimmick BAJA package out. Did they know what they were doing when they released the "RUGGED TRAIL" Edition? Yeah. - 1 for Toyota on that one.

Those extra rocker panel protection are only going to be limited by the EXTRA Long mudflaps they still have on it. Why didn't toyota release a shorter set of flaps. Why not made some more wider fenders to go with the new front end?

    Why? Toyota, Why?

I'm not saying they're trying to compete with the Raptor. However, if you're going to release this package. Please put more thought into it before you slap a few things on and jack up the price. Toyota could have made it also a limited color not offered on any other Tacoma. I'm just saying.

bottom line america likes change....this package will appeal to the fan boi...not enthusiats like us which is a very very small percentage....people will bite and buy it....its all marketing that will catch the average american thats why toyota will do it...the 2nd gen is aging and theres no point to bring out a true baja in this stage of its life cycle it doesnt make business sence...so minor changes is the way to go for now till the 3rd gen comes out if they decide to bring something like a "true baja"

^ I suppose you bring up a good point, but I'm still saying it sucks. LOL

They could've made it a Toyota Tacoma 2.5 Gen. Where it paves the way for the new 3rd gen. Half-assing a front end change and not the rest is kinda lazy imho.

This package is pretty much how the TRD Off-Road should have been in the first place...an actual upgraded suspension, small lift, actual AT tires and no Rugged Fails. Well, at least Toyota tried...and I'm not knocking the 2011 TX Pro's but at least they put in a little more effort with this one beyond just add ons for looks.

Hmmmm, don't see much to care about for the pricing. The inside changes seem more interesting but still, PASS.

According to the you tube post above, they are only making 750 of them. Chances are, I wont see any on my local lots.
