I got $4500. They tried to Low-ball me but I had my own Blue Book print out that said $4500 so they backed off and gave me the full amount.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
As long as it has the VVTi. That made a world of difference.

well yeah.... but even the the torque on the VVTI 4.7L v8 came on WAY sooner than the 1GR ever could.

That stated.... the 4.7L is old school.... id really love to see what a newer 4.6L 1UR-FE out of the current tundra in a tacoma would do.... id be willing to bet you would get the same / better MPG and WAY WAY better torque n power vs the 3.5L v6 thats in the 3rd gen.

My friend's 1st gen Tundra was what got me interested in the Tacoma. Unfortunately the fit and finish of the Tacoma just doesn't compare to the Tundras...heated leather seats, premium materials. His Tundra still looks, runs and sounds great while my Tacoma is a rusty roofed rattle bucket.

2007 Black Sand Pearl. Middle of the roof all scaly rust. It lives here in sunny, rain free California.

I had an 05 4 door and it was a lot roomier than my 4 door tacoma. I even slept in the back once which isn't even a possibility in the Tacoma IMO. Power wasn't even comparable. :burnrubber:

    Gas mileage was poop :bananadead:

I agree. My friends have 05 Tundras and they're much roomier inside the cab, especially the backseat. I can't speak to power, but it has good get-up and go. I tell them not to sell it.

Yup, Tundra access cab has a backseat you can lay down across, you can't do that with a Taco.

I traded my 2010 crewcab tundra in on my 2015 tacoma because my 5' tall wife had a hard time see over the dash. The cabin in the tundra is massive and very comfortable. I feel snug in the Tacoma and it took me a couple weeks to get used to that. I felt the interior quality between both is very similar. I loved the tundras road manners. 5.7 has smooth power. The suspension is supple. And there wasn't a hint of vibration at any speed. But it is way to big and long for some trails. it turns like a boat, and has poor down low visibility

Yeah if I'd have found a decent lowish mileage first gen tundra when I was in the market im sure that's what I'd have gotten instead of the tacoma. But I still like the tacoma it's just more hauling capticitywould be nice, and modern full sizers are stupid huge.

There are only a couple of model years where they are similar sized. I think 05 and 06 only. The 04 Tacoma is tiny. I respected Toyota quality for years, but prior to the 2nd gen Tacoma they were simply too small for my needs. I consider the 2nd and 3rd gen Tacoma's mid-size, as is the T-100 and original Tundra.
