OP, who the heck cares? It's a bed mat! How is it defective? it's in one piece, doing it's job and protecting the bed and keeping shit from sliding around, right? Is the fact that it is faded weighing down on your brain and bothering you that much and causing you to lose sleep at night? If so you may need to see someone about that. Again, it's just a bed mat.

I could smell mine for a little while. Let it sit out in the sun for a week to a month. That'll cook it out.

Yep mine looks the exact same! Half is faded. Doesn't really bother me though since it is just a rubber mat.

+1, It is not supposed to look pretty. It supposed to be functional. Who looks at a bed mat and says "what an ugly bed mat"? You ought to see mine but of course I actually use my bed.

I wonder if the OP got his original replaced and if so, how the new one is aging?

Shouldn't slide around. Should fit perfectly.

Some folks run a long bolt with a big flat washer through the drain holes in the front of the bed so the mat cannot be moved/removed easily

Just when you think you have heard all of the bitching and complaining possible in the third gen section......this shit comes up. I would shoot myself if I had to be the service writer for some of you people. What chemical imbalance in ones brain makes them think their rubber bed mat protector should be pretty and shiny?

Limited wheels, extra rope hooks in bed.
What's wrong with wanting a bed mat that's not 2-tone? These are expensive trucks in my opinion.

I'm with the op on this one....How hard can it be to make a large sheet of rubber one color???

Truck is the key word there. For all I know mine is doing the same thing. I never even look at it and wouldn't care. It is doing the job it was meant to do.

I appreciate everyone's comments. As always, To each his own. I get it. It's a mat. Made to protect the truck bed and keep stuff from sliding around. For those who do NOT care what theirs look like, Good for you. I happen to care what mine looks like so therefore its MY choice how it looks. I love the forum, but can't really understand why we can't have a civil discussion without a bunch of dickless comments. Now that I got that off my chest, for those with the sensible comments. I did in fact contact the dealer that I bought the bedmat from. They immediately agreed that the mat WAS defective and that they have never seen that on any of the literally hundreds of mats that they have previously sold. They promptly made arrangements with me to replace it and in fact sent a parts guy out with a new one the next day. He met my at my place of employment and switched that mats out. N0 problems whatsoever with the new mat.

Are you sure they agreed the mat was defective, or the owner of the truck was defective? I'm sorry but this really is some nit-picking. I'm guessing you probably freak out when a bird poops on your truck or you drive through a puddle?!
