    Doubling down!

Roads with potholes, skattered sharp metallic objects, and miscellaneous larger objects carelessly left by others don't exist where you drive, I get it- your world.

    Lovely.

It's easier to control your tire's destiny where you live, but my world is slightly different.

Be happy to live in your world, no need to get "triggered"

    Cheers!

It's actually easy, buy four good tires and put them in storage somewhere.....and feel the power (of control)!

haha drive where stuff isn't! You guys (and girls) slay me... next time you see a large hunk of metal in the road, drive AROUND it. Your tires will thank you!

BTW, what does "triggered" even mean? :notsure: And "Scout" is that some GPS thing or something? Help me out here. I'm 55.

I dont know about you but i dont have good enough vision to spot a roofing nail at 50 mph. Most of my tire punctures have been nails or screws

I understand. It happens. My wife ran over an anvil once. No shit. No other traffic around. Must have fallen off a truck. She thought it was a cardboard box...

On a side note, I remember seeing a talk given by an engineer from Google on the subject of autonomous vehicles.

According to her, one of the big challenges is getting the system to be able to differentiate between hazardous objects in the road like logs and non hazardous objects like paper bags- something humans can do without difficulty.

    That one's for you @hiPSI .

    All in good fun.

    Cheers brother.

Funny enough, one of the things that finally got me out of sedans and into my tacoma was when there was a Burger King bag in the middle of the street laying on its side and I couldnt pass over it without it scraping on the front of my car.

I was taught to never assume a bag is just a bag, and avoid anything in the road as long as it is safe to do so. Yet I have had well over 5 flat tires, haven't had one in a few years so maybe I hit my quota and I'm good from now on :D

Some humans. Not my wife. Shingles are another big thing to avoid. If you see an old shingle lying flat on the road, assume there are still roofing nails attached. That was another thing my wife ran over. I'm telling you guys, road hazard insurance loses money every time I buy her tires. It's pretty much buy one set, get the second set for $20. She is a good driver too! She just runs over the strangest shit. She hit an exhaust pipe one time. Of course it cut the tire but the pipe kicked up and wrapped itself up in the rear suspension. I went out to change her flat and had to go back home to get the saws all. Had to cut in three places to get it unwrapped. Plus buy a new rear shock. That was long time ago. Now curbs seem to be her thing...

WV. Worse or better depends on your definition of "better." We probably have the Columbians beat in obesity. Clean water too. That's about it...

So you argue how statistically flat tires aren't common.......and offer your spouse as proof of your argument.
