Only "real men" drive ridgelines! Yeah yeah roo rah roo rah guns!, alcomohol!, herding cattle! Yeah, we real men oorah! I'm gonna go hammer up some drywall and cut a few trees down just to prove my manliness!

"Real men" don't go around telling other men that they aren't "Real men" because of what car or truck they choose to drive.

In 32 years and 5 trucks all having drums I've never had to replace a set of rear brakes.

I've replaced plenty of pads and rotors though.

    I don't need rear discs.

In general I think people are unaware of how expensive trucks really are. When I got my Tacoma, I had a similar conversation with a coworker, who was also interested in the Ridgeline himself. I explained they really were polar opposites and appeal to different consumers.

FWIW, I am pretty much a Honda faithful - my DD is a Honda, as is my wife's, and I've owned nothing but Hondas since 1994. But when it came time to buy a truck, the only one I considered was the Tacoma. If Honda made a true body on frame pickup truck, perhaps I would've looked at it, but its really hard to beat Toyota's reputation and resale. I worked for Toyota in the 90's and always wanted a Tacoma.

As far as GM goes...meh. The Twins look good, especially the ZR2 model. But, been there done that. IMHO the interior still looks cheaply finished, and years ago I owned a couple of S10's that were garbage. Electrical issues, sucked gas, underpowered....a/c compressor went up at 45k miles. And I don't care what they say, GM still has those issues. My Father-In-Law's Traverse that he bought new a couple of years ago is experiencing electrical issues (HVAC fan doesnt always work), lights go on/off, bells, etc. and a friend of mine has a newer Escalade and the drivers side HVAC fan doesn't work at all, the auto dimming mirror gave up the ghost, etc.

No thanks. I'll stick with the Tacoma. I love this truck.

The new ranger is super ugly. I haven't met anyone who likes it, even multiple last gen ranger owners. It looks like a damn fiat

I own a Tacoma and a Honda Accord , but no way in Hell I would be caught dead driving a Soccer mom SUV truck like the Ridgeline don't care what the payload it has, I can always upgrade the Tacoma suspension to increase the payload and still keep my man card intact.
