Tacoma BSM problems?

Mine just failed, at 31k, on a 1,000 mile
All highway drive between AR and denver. Threw a code for BSM out of alignment/calibration - they won’t warranty it because of some scratches on my bumper - that i earned at Moab, 4 months and 20,000 miles ago.... blargh - even showed them the pic of it laying on the bumper!

 

Sounds about right. I don’t think there’s a way to fix it with TS either, at least that I’ve seen.

I assume you’re lifted if you were in Moab as well, which would definitely be another denial because it would throw them off their alignments (at least enough for them to deny you).

 

yeah, i’m lifted, for the last 10,000. But, yeah. The bastards.

 

Mine went out at the beach while off roading, read some other forums stating to let it recalibrate on it's own by just leaving it on. I did that today and it took about 10 minutes for it to do so. Now, it is working again. Hope this helps someone.

 

Same here. 2 days on the beach, same thing.

First time, i shut it off, went home, hooked up, and looked at the info... cleared it... and drove around. All set.

2nd time, I just let it do its own thing.

I have been wondering if, the BSM is turned off before getting onto the sand, if that will help....

Not going to be able to try it....but...
