Do those work fairly well? I might get them if that’s the case.

never tried it. i use blind spot mirrors. that was just the first product that popped up. though the reviews appear to be very positive.

If you're gonna buy, listen to the wife and buy new, a 2023 not the 2024....
Take one for a nice long drive. Park it. Back it in. Make a tight turn. Take it out at 75 MPH for a bit.

I'm 10 years older than you and bought a 2021 brand new, per the wife's bidding.... and I love it.

Mind you I piddle around town, use the 4WD rarely but I'm glad I have it.
Oh, and I look good in it too - that's all that matters anyway.

My 2007 Corolla could have used new struts/shocks for better comfort , but still does not wallow like my Tacoma. Got 30 MPG instead of 19 MPG. Smaller turning radius, easier to maneuver through tight spaces, etc etc etc

But if You want a truck, Tacoma takes me where the Corolla cannot go and carried more cargo. The primary superior structural aspect is the solid truck frame that the body sits on ... Corolla is "integrated frame.

As 2021SR5V64WD said, have it in your control long enough to try turning radius, handling over bumps that flex the frame, even try the 90 degree turns in parking lots that sometimes force the truck over the corner curb. If you can accept it is NOT a Camry or Corolla, it is still as safe (the story posted) as other Toyota vehicles, and will likely survive and help you survive at the cot of its own life.
