I am trying to decide which color is best for the Tacoma. I have two I really like GMG and blazing blue pearl. They both have the same features (4x4, sr5, v6,DC). Are there pros and cons to either color? Is the BBP harder to mod because the color is bright? Is grey the smarter choice for a more classic truck? I don’t want to get a color that is trendy but doesn’t age well. If you have either let me know your thoughts.

I also am biased and would suggest mgm. Honestly gray goes with everything. I’m slowly going for a gray/red theme and it’s looking good, in my head, wallet needs to look good irl first lol. Also it’s just timeless imho

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

First off, any well maintained Tacoma will hold resale value well, I don't ever recall a thread here saying "nobody wants to buy my excellent condition truck" in any stock color.
There is a butt for every seat you might say. ;)

Good judgement says buy the best truck for the money.
There are dozens of ways two fairly identical units can be different, for example: lower miles, single owner, rust free location, garage kept, child/pet/smoke free, never towed a trailer, better service history available - ultimately one may just feel better driving than the other.

If they do come out "the same" pick the one that makes you think "wow, that looks good!" when you walk up to it and enjoy your new truck!

Partial to the MGM. Goes great with black accented mods/accessories and doesn't show dirt like black does. Splash of color with black and MGM always looks nice and clean. Then again, a lot of members on here can make any color look good... Can't go wrong with the stock colors!

Welcome to the forum. I am very partial but my choice was and is... Blazing Blue Pearl... only a 3 year colour. It is a colour that I feel ages well. I think it is easy to accessorize with... I like the low gloss blacks with a pop or red on my truck.

In my area, the black and gray trucks are everywhere... it's nice to have something a little different.

This is important too... this is still how I feel about my truck...:burnrubber:

Both of the above trucks' colors are cool when there're dechromed / debadged like that.

Toyota got the color exactly right with BBP. It has the exact correct balance between cyan and magenta along with, in my opinion as long time professional photographer and admitted color junkie, the perfect amount of saturation in the blue that looks great in all kinds of direct sunlight from dawn to dusk plus in any other kind of light as well. There are some Ford blues that are close but lean toward magenta which just makes them feel dirty. There's something that's just perfect with this color and that's why I bought one five and half years ago and never ever get tired of it. Just my opinion of course.

it is documented that the mgm weathers out pretty bad. I don't think necessarily to point as being as bad as the white truck paint issues, but there are some pics out there of horrific mgm paint. If you like that blue, I haven't heard anything about it going bad. That would simply be if you happen to like the blue color. To each their own. Whoever said the mgm looks best when its clean is correct. Night and day different between clean and dirty. It makes you clean it more often, like it or not.

BBP will stand out from other Tacoma's. Not many of them around.

Blue for sure, but that is just a personal opinion.Never liked that mgm color on anything. Everyone has there favorite colors, no wrong answers, pick a color YOU like, as your going to be looking and paying for it.

Uhhhh... BBP has notoriously bad paint issues... just a couple examples for you...

The answer to either BBP or MGM is pretty obvious: Yes.

I had MGM, but you really cant go wrong w either.

Welcome! I would recommend deciding if you want something flashier which will stand out more and turn lots of heads, or something more subdued but classy which will look good with any thing or anywhere. I would say decide between those two concepts and that will help you choose your color!:bananadance:
