4.88’s. It seems steep but that double overdrive makes up for it on the highway. I enjoy mines for reference

I'd say you are in between. If you are going to stick to 33s then either will be good. I had 33s with 4.88s and I was totally pleased especially with OVtune. If there is the slightest possibility that you'll be going bigger on tires at all in the future then 4.88s no question

For the AT, 4.88s are really well paired with 33-35". For the MT, really only need 4.88 when going over 33" from my experience.

I have 33’s (255 85 R16’s) with stock gears, still turning out 17.5-19 mpg through most of my driving.

I definitely would NOT change your gears for normal driving on 33’s.

I would...I've had stock gears as well, and it really slows down the truck and driving on the highway is a bitch due to the lowered RPMs.

4.30's are the sweet spot for me, but I drive a lot of highway so 4.88's would have lowered my mpg too much.

    my build tread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/socal-no-shame-poser-build.513084/
Im running 33’s, 4.88’s and ovtune and love it. Finally drive 70+ effortlessly on freeway. I dont think its overkill.

I'm on 33s with stock gears no issues.

If you do the math yes you should be around 4 56. But from what I've read 4.88 is better for auto trans. Besides when I was looking no one even made 4 56 for the 8.75 ring gear only 4.88

Also you have a sport if it's manual you've already got 4.10 not sure you'd even need to regear.
