As great as a diesel tacoma sounds, it is not feasible in the US market. Look at the Colorado/Canyon diesels, they're few and far between on dealer lots; because of the price premium and the lack of real world performance.

I drove a diesel Hilux and was super stoked initially, then i put my foot down. Small diesel 4 cylinders do not have the get up and go that makes Tacoma's great daily drivers as well as exceptional wheeling rigs. The torque is there, but merging onto a highway/freeway is a chore. What Tacoma's need is either turbo(s) or a supercharger option. The 2GR-FE has been supercharged, think Lotus Evora, and puts out a great amount of power.

Yes a diesel Tacoma would be awesome if tuning was available, but stock I would have to pass. The efficiency isn't worth the lack of livability.

OMG did my political crack get deleted?

    Gosh.

Seriously. Where is fuel cell tech these days? It must be at least halfway decent with all the big fleet vehicles I see on it.

I got in an elevator last week on the ground floor and pushed floor 17. I stepped out of the elevator in the basement. When I got back to the ground floor it was today. You think you have problems...
