I've been making improvements to my yard by putting top soil on patchy spots in the grass. This is 16/20lb bags of soil:

Put a little weight on the tailgate...but it was a short 1.5 mile drive home.

Got a smoking deal on a John Deere Gator and went and picked it up today. Ended up renting a 5x8 trailer from Home Depot with ramps which made the job easy. 20220703_104446.jpg

Yes. 75 or so. It didnt struggle too bad. The total weight of it all was probably in the 4500lbs range of I had to guess.

I only went about 10 miles with it. No problems.

I need to go to the landfill and have them weigh this. Picture of the rear wheel, and I have a 3” lift.

14' trailer of unknown weight. 2500 lbs of tractor with some additional accessories in the bed. Total weight probably between 4k and 5k somewhere.

The real kicker was that I had a 4 hour highway drive with it. 4th gear and 65mph on level ground and 3rd gear up hills.

All in all, I was proud of my little truck but if I had to do that stuff often I'd be looking for a Tundra.

I've hauled similar loads of rock, but cut as drill core. Both have Dakars, 3rd gen also has airbags.

    InkedIMG_20220505_135353_LI.jpg

or cut samples off to the lab in my second gen

If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of research work are you doing that requires sending samples to a lab?

Mineral exploration, both those photos were from copper gold exploration programs. Samples go to labs for assay.
