Why do some Tacomas have the "Tacoma" badge on the doors and others do not? I see about half of them with the badges, and half without here at my workplace. Most of the Tacomas are unmodified and are used for DD and occasional light hauling by their various owners.

I would assume that the ones without the badges the owners removed the badges. They are very easy to take off, just a hair dryer and fishing line and they come off within 10 minutes.

Maybe the dealerships stick the badges on the trucks once they arrive from the factory and yours was sold before they were attached. Did your truck have any of the badges on the tailgate?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Lots of people take them off because they like that smooth, clean look. Over the years, dirt and crap builds up behind them so if you decide to take them off say 5 or more years down the road, they will probably look like hell underneath where the badge was.

If you take them off, you can make new ones. My favorites are: Taco, coma, TaTa.com...etc

I took mine off a few days after I purchased the truck. I just prefer a nice smooth surface for washing and waxing.

Thanks for the replies. We have ALOT of Tacomas here where I work. It is a popular vehicle among our workforce. However, I have worked here for 13 years and know a lot of people here. Many people here are not into modding. I would venture to guess that almost every Tacoma owner here at my workplace wouldn't know if they have the badges or not if they were asked. Most of the Tacomas here are in OEM condition (including mine).

Oh, by the way, my base model regular cab does have the door and tailgate badges. I like them.
