Tacoma ecu on tundra?

Hey guys,

so just for reference I have a 05 tundra 4.0 v6. I have gotten some info on cams rods and more for the 1gr fe few but all I need now it a way to tune it.

My first question is could there be anyway I can tune it with a 2nd gen Tacoma ecu installed? I have a friend who’s Tacoma he’s parting out and if it would work I would want to swap the ecu over with harness since I know both engines are very similar (besides heads) which I could also swap onto it if that would work.

If not, do y’all have any ideas or thoughts on a way to tune it or program it?

I don’t know much about tuning but open to any advice as well regarding it!

 

If the hardware is the same but software is different i would say u can. U would probaly just have to program it to tacoma software. Are the part numbers the same?

 

What part numbers would you like me to find? And thanks for that information I’m slowly trying to start to find ways to tune these tundra versions but I’m gonna be looking into it more.
