Perhaps so but mine failed on a low mileage '14. The valves were completely carbon-shut at around 22k mi and the thing went in limp mode way out in nowhere. I do not short trip and it lives in a heated garage. One thing of note is the warranty for the '12 seems to be using the parts from the '13-'15. Big deal, they are still junk parts and also likely to fail. I did not like being quasi-stranded and keep my eye on this thread in order to end up with a tune to defeat the SAI.

Yeah that sucks man. I know the 12’s seemed to be the worst....but not the only ones for sure. This is something I’d definitly like tuned off with the ovtune...

Getting my tune results plugged in here for those wondering...Truck is a 2015 with TRD SC and re flash.

Before purchasing I asked about being able to bump shifts up a couple hundred rpm, firming up shifts, removing the key alarm noise, removing the seat belt alarm noise, removing the speed limiter, picking up some hp and mpg, and eliminating the cel from the header install and getting the truck to not go so rich on hard accel. I was informed all those were doable. When tune came, it was simply a choice between 91 or 93 tune.

It's hard to give an accurate answer to some of these as atmospheric conditions have been cloudy since being able to get in it on my first road trip today, but here are my conclusions after a 400 mile round trip.

Shift point seem to be the same. Shift firmness the same. Key alarm and seat belt alarms still there. Speed limiter still there. HP not showing up on aeroforce gauge, but again conditions not cold AND clear. It appears I've picked up about .5 mpg. When driving around town after first uploading tune the cel was gone. Today on first wot pass, light has come back on and truck still goes to 9.6 on hard accel. Engine seemed to run smoother until cel came back on.

So...I guess I'll see if ovtune wants to take another run at it. For $500 and 3 months I expected more.

dbs1, have you been able to measure your A/F ratios? Probably a silly question, but thought I would ask anyway for the hell of it.

Yes, on hard accel it still goes to 9.6. Cruise is at 14.6. Both are what showed on gauge previous to tune.

I will. No sense to have public forums to discuss purchase results if we don't share em.

If his tune is based off mine I had all 4 cats when he tuned the truck so that could be why his is running richer. Or different pulley/intake setups. As far as the bells going off if that happens I don’t think it will happen until a while down the road. Mat is probably focusing on tuning the motors first then all that stuff later I would guess.
