I just got my handheld back from mat. It was unable to load to my handheld from my, or others computer. I asked for a refund but that isn't going to be the case I see. Without instructions I guessed and loaded a tune. I am impressed with how it runs. Idles smoother than before, and it was smooth to begin with. Through the revs it really goes. More of a hp punch than when I changed pulleys! There is too much traffic now for me to do further testing. Later on today I will. The limited communications are frustrating for me too. I dont know what tune I've loaded, if or when I can change it. Must i always mail the tuner back via ups and wait for it to return? I hope these issues can be resolved. Upside is mat really knows what he's doing. I'm very impressed with the results.

I simply need more space for testing. Its challenging to view afr #s as I'm dodging cars. Initial but dyno is a conservative (A)! If the bugs get worked out and communications improved this ovtune has amazing potential.

The afr gauge is hard to focus on when in heavy traffic. The glance I took on the freeway was 10ish. Granted, I'm running meth. Might need that on off switch on my meth today for testing. Transmission seems unchanged. If anything it needs the ratiotek kit more than ever.

I have seen your emails, but as I mentioned I still am working on getting everyone elses done. I do recall in the beginning you asked for so many things, much of which was never even offered or even said possible. There are people I am working on getting their ECUs finished and tunes setup. I recall telling you that I would do custom things, transmission shift updates, etc after that. The process has been painfully slow and if you check I have even considered to stop using the handhelds in the future because of how the software and updating process is so slow and ever since they updated to the 3+ version handhelds it has been buggy, The customer I quoted below is a perfect example. For some, totally unknown reason he tried on multiple computers and can't even load the software. Why? No idea. I wish I knew. I am trying to take care of customers that are still having issues with their original purchase before I start going into custom / fine tuning later.

As I said below while my site is down I am putting a new system in place so that it will no longer be to just email me.

I thought the plan was that we talked you would flash the "original" so to return it because for some reason the software would not work on your computer. There are 2 tunes in it, a 91 and 93, and are labeled, you had to flash one of them.

I am working on a new system for communication, part of the reason my website is down, I am putting an all new system in place so that it won't just be to email me anymore and wait. Things get lost, get delayed, and it's not working as good as it should. Part of the reason for taking my site down, I'm redoing everything so that I can better communicate with my customers and get back to them quickly.

Without knowing what was altered I can only guess. A second opinion would be great but I dont have anybody here that cares. Maybe I'll hit up @crashnburn80 for his thoughts. He's local.

Mat @OVTune. I understand all the work you are doing. Bottom line, the product you turn out is great.

send me a PM I can tell you exactly what's altered.

Also I want to expand a little further on why things have taken so long and communication has been dismal. I know I could do better and I know that my communication with you guys has been, well shitty. It is my fault and I accept that, and am trying to get a new system setup so this does not happen again. I've taken my site down so that there are no new customers until then. I want everything done, updated. I'll be honest here ever since I started doing the 3.5L tacoma I've been up to my eyes in stuff. The 3rd gen trucks are a never ending problem-fest. Two trucks exactly alike, run completely different. It's been rather difficult.

It's not in any way any 4.0L's fault.

Must have been a misunderstanding on my part. I thought I had to mail it back a second time for a return option. When I got it today it said factory ecu already loaded. So I didnt know what to think. I loaded the 93 tune. Any guess what hp change that could be? Should I experiment with the start time on the meth? Once again, great job. Drives like I've got one notch smaller pulley. Smooth running from idle to redline.

Yea unfortunately these handhelds are picky.. but if you load the "original file" now it will go back to stock then you could erase your VIN from it then it would be possible to return. Meth would definitely be a great upgrade for these I think. I can't recall the pulley size of the truck I did testing on but the blower definitely got hot, and if people go smaller I could only imagine they are blowing fire in the engine after running it hard. Anything that cools down intake temps + boost octane is a plus. Although if you spray a lot fuel will need trimmed out

I am running meth. I might go crank it up. Before your tune I could run it hard on the freeway, pull over, and check. My supercharger wasn't even warm. Like you could hold an infant's hand on it without problem.

does anyone know a good tuner(device) or tuning company for a 2015 4.0 naturally aspirated? Haven't had any luck finding one.

I'd say wait for ovtune to get theirs out. If it's done as well as supercharged applications it's worth the wait.

I have a NA 2014 and bought one of the few handheld tuners OVTune sold for the NA trucks and I’m thrilled. Just wait till he puts them back on the market. He’s the only one that tunes the Engine ECU...all the rest add an additional module to try to modulate the signals in and out.

What kind of hp gains do you estimate? Are you on a 91 or 93 tune?

HP gains?? I’m not good at estimating that BUT I can tell you there IS more power... but additionally and maybe more importantly, it’s the improved shift points and the removal of the lag from pressing the gas pedal until the engine responds that makes my truck quicker and much more fun to drive!!

Only had 87 or 91 tune files from OVTune but I run 93 Octane.
