Thank you all. Kind of pulled the trigger on the post before I searched for numbers that OVTune has posted. Saw a few readers posted earlier. Wonder if AutoZone would be so kind as to check?

I dont think they can, nor would I trust them. They tested a battery for me, they scratched their head and said, um it's good. Got home and the car clicked once on the first try.

You can get a decent scanner for under $25

I tried using my UltraGauge but was unable to find my calibration ID. Am I missing something or do I need to use a different type of scanner?

They (we) cannot. The scanners they give us suck. They cant even clear codes. But If you bother some employee enough we do have big fancy scanners in the back that you have to rent, but can occasionally get an employee to pull down if you harass them enough. But even then most people who work at autozone wont have a clue in the world where to find the ECU number.

I’m extremely late to this party and apologize in advance for not searching through all 157 pages prior to my questions.

Can this be used if one has a URD MAF?
Also, do we send specs of installed parts I.e. long tubes, catless etc

    Thanks gents

I've been following this thread for a good while. This tuner would replace the need of a maf calibrator. It does much more.

Good Lord! Guess there is hope for me finding a side job in retirement since I do have more skills than looking at a computer screen. I have a ScanGauge and looked through the instructions but could find anything about finding the calibration ID. Will find a cheap reader on Amazon I guess. Thanks for the help.

Not sure about ultraguage. I use a bafx brand obd2 reader with the torque pro app on my phone.

Don’t bother going to any of those places. I went to 4 and 2 said they’re not allowed to plug it in unless there’s a CEL and the other two were convinced theirs would be able to tell the calibration ID. Didn’t even bother to at least try. I ordered a wireless scanner online and got what I needed.

This one is less than $25 on Amazon. Works great.

The one @taco2010trd posted will work with iOS. The app i got to use with it is $10 in the app store. Works great, gives lots of info, and is guaranteed to tell your calibration ID

Has anyone got the revised shiftpoints yet? Curious to what has changed. Would be nice if it fixed the truck wanting to stay in 4th gear when cruising.

Really trying to keep up with this site but somewhat tough. Anyway, went to the OVTune web page to peruse again. Are there tunes for the NA 4.0 trucks and are they simply flashed on said truck using software/laptop with a dongle??? Keep seeing references to the handhelds and not clear to me if those are needed now.

Not always but sometimes it doesnt want to shift into overdrive (5th), so I have to go from D - 4 - D and it kicks into 5th no problem. I know a few others have had this happen. My old truck did it when going down the same hill everyday and it didn’t have a supercharger so I don’t think that has anything to do with it. Who knows
