I'd say the "majority" don't have the knowledge or equipment to self tune(effectively).

I'm interested, but being N/A I'd need to see specific options since I have very little to gain. If I could disable the injector cut-off when coasting downhill I'd be all over it. :bananadance:

It's annoying as hell to have to step on the gas when coasting downhill in order to keep speed. It also makes no sense to me to prevent the vehicle from maintaining speed when traveling downhill. It's like the brakes are applied when going downhill. It's a common complaint on the Tacoma. Is this the first you've heard about it?

    Is yours an auto?

It is a normal tuning strategy to have a fuel cut for "X" amount of time after the throttle pedal has been lifted. Decel Fuel Cut. Then it should go back to closed loop fueling.

    Yes, auto.

It seems counterproductive to make me press the gas pedal to maintain speed when coasting downhill. I know I'm not alone because I've read several complaints about it over the years.

Ok every vehicle with obd2 does this and it's for good reasons.
All you're going to do is burn more fuel. The amount of engine braking when your throttle is closed isn't going to change if you turn off the decel fuel cut. What you are feeling is aerodynamic and mechanical drag from the truck itself. My buddies 2015 f150 has way more coasting decel than my Tacoma does and I'm on larger tires. If you want to maintain speed going downhill then guess What, just like on level ground you have to apply throttle. It's physics.

Yes it's called decel fuel cut. Shuts off the injectors and uses the transmission too keep the engine turning to save fuel. Guys who switch it off are the ricers who want to spit flames when they let off lol

100% I've worked on many different makes and I've never come across an obd2 vehicle that didn't use decel fuel cut.
