I'm no turning guru but the 87 tune has worked well for me. Mpg gains and very nice driveability improvements

When I got the handheld there was not a 93 tune. I requested it and Mat sent me the file.

Did you gain more MPGs with the 91 tune or just about the same with the 87 tune?

Depends on your ECU version. If supercharged or automatic with calibrations 2010+ yes
The MPG tune is one we are working specifically oriented towards increasing efficiency on trucks with minimal modifications, (not really ideal for trucks that have FBO / full exhaust, etc)

I tried messaging OVTune on Facebook with my question no response, so will post it here. If I purchased a 4.0 NA tune and later buy a supercharger, how much would it be to upgrade? Thanks Chris

i have the n/a and been running it for 4-6 months. i just put a super charger on my truck. i flashed my ecu to stock file and hooked the handheld up to my desktop and cleared all data out of the handheld. then i re-read my ecu with the trd supercharger faile and e-mailed the supercharger stock file to them. im still waiting on a modified file back. but the have not said anything about needed me to pay for an upgrade, yet.

@OVTune Mat, I’m just about set to put the custom 2.7 pulley tune you sent me on August 12th into my truck. I have a quick important question before I start the supporting mods........

Do I need to do the “boost reference” FPR mod? I’ve done some research and have gotten advice to add fuel by doing this to not lean out. I am on the TRD 455 injectors still with no plans to switch them, I do not believe I’m in the area of maxing out. Im also at 600 ft above sea level.

If the tune you sent me richened it up a little to take this into account and you don’t see the need, I won’t do it. Or if you feel just do it for a piece of mind please let me know either way......

Zen desk sits and waits with no response. Had multiple emails sitting for a month now. This is why we resort to anything to get you to respond with some sort of customer service.

Don't know your email or what the situation is but that's rarely the case. I normally cycle through all my tickets every 7-10 days.

Regardless, specific things regarding your specific tune needs to be sent through the appropriate channels.

In 99 percent of cases we get back to people quite quickly. But when it comes to some things. I.E. having a new tune / ecu version loaded to you handheld, having changes to tunes via handheld, etc or pretty much anything "handheld" it's a slow turn over rate because the software, hardware, etc is controlled by a 3rd party.

Also we are closed holidays and weekends.

@OVTune . Sure thing Mat, just sent another email 5 minutes ago. I won’t post up all the traffic but not the case on ticket #6481. Plenty of long delays and negative response. Third email sent tonight after you asked for a shipping address a month ago. No item received or confirmation of anything ever shipped. Thanks for your help.

Ahh ok. This is regarding the replacement handheld for the one that was sold to a 3rd party. I will get back with you via your ticket during normal business hours.

Also I want clear a few things up because I think our product is getting some unfair criticism due to the new HP Tuners stuff / DIY things going on.

Our product is to provide you a finished calibration for your truck, and our product does what our product does.
With the exception of Adding ecu IDs, our tunes have been virtually issue free since release.
Feedback from our customers are 95+ percent positive, especially AT NA guys who enjoy the new shifting parameters.
What I think is a little unfair is the criticism regarding updates to tunes, or new features. Especially after seeing what people with HP Tuners is now doing.

So let's be clear. Most things you see that are being played with in the DIY realm, we did on your tunes well over a year ago.
That includes shift tables. Torque converter tables. Fuel mapping. Throttle per gear mapping. Air-load mapping. Throttle limit mapping. Valve timing, ignition timing, etc.

So some of the stuff people are now playing with with HP Tuners, we did in these calibrations well over a year ago. To attack us for not updating something we already did, because you see DIY guys now doing it, is a bit unfair.

We still sell 4.0 tunes every so often and they include everything we've already provide over the last 16+ months. Our calibrations have a set goal, and that's what we provide.

If you're looking for a solution that's constant tinkering based off what other DIY realm is doing, this is not that, and it's not an accurate comparison.

All of our current updates we have provided, or will provide if you don't already have it.

Updates are not continual tweaking of stuff we already mapped and works well, nor tuning stuff we already did because you're now seeing it in the DIY realm.

    Thanks

+1! You can't go wrong running a little rich while you confirm AFRs, @JuanitoBunito. The FPR Mod is one of the easiest to "install" and remove. Go with it until/unless empirical data tells you to remove it.
