I just brought home a 2016 4.0L 4Runner to add to my collection! Running 1.05 on my 2017 MT Tacoma and still waiting on 2.0.bin for my 2017, but I’m so impressed so far that I’m definitely interested if you decided to do anything with the 1GR-FE! @OVTune
Thanks for all you do, Mat!

Will software be available for sale in the future or can I rule that out?

Our software will come with example tunes for various ECUs we have made tunes for in the past.
These tunes will be for competition use / testing.
You can use these tunes as an example to create your own. We will not be offering our own tunes anymore as a service / product.

Well that’s unfortunate..... what does that leave us supporters who have the original tunes?

truck covers usa roll cover, popnlock remote lock, iron cross running boards, p2 trailer Brake, rear view mirror upgrade with auto dim temp and homelink, yakima rack bars , goodyear wranglers, heated side mirrors with directional signal.
Also been using the 4.0 tune for my 2015 auto, happy with the tune. Will you still offer support and will I be able to still use the p5flash software to switch between my 87 and 91 tune and back to stock ?

That’s unfortunate. Was it the because there wasn’t enough interest in the 4.0s that led to it being discontinued?
That’s great to hear. Thank you.

So is that the Forest Tuner product for $199 on your website? How many credits are needed to tune my 1 2014 4.0 Tacoma?
Assuming I buy, do I need to use my handheld and revert my truck back to the stock tune first?

each ECU ID is 4 credits, and it comes with 5 credits with the $199 package.

note, it is not compatible with the handheld though.

but don't order right now, 4.0L ECUs are being added, they are not ready to go yet.

    It was multiple things.
    1. the 4.0L wasn't really as optimistic to tune as other toyotas were.
    2. 3.5L development and tuning completely consumed us
    3. HP Tuners release kind of killed us.

Additionally, can the existing 89/91/93 tunes you created be imported into the software platform?

I’m still green to this stuff. @OVTune , you have been a tremendous help to me personally. In regards to what isn’t supported anymore, are the initial handhelds still going to be supported?

I'd like to think so. That was one of the selling points in the beginning.

I hope so. I’m still on the original dyno tune. I really should have him update me to the v2 or what ever current improvements are there.

If I was on lockdown from work I would totally be installing my larger fuel injectors and smaller pulley but road work is classified as essential so no time off for me. There’s always vacation time though.

All right, so I am dumber than dirt. Followed this thread for the last year or so off and on while considering a buy in the future. So are you going sell new ECU's to install in vehicles such as the 2nd gen Tacoma 4.0's? I don't think I would have had a hard time flashing the software as you previously offered in the past as I had read through the procedures a number of times but I am completely out of my league when it comes to determining how to alter the parameters for my truck using your "stock" tunes. So what does a novice such as me do to enhance my trucks performance, particularly increasing MPG's which is my primary interest.

    Simple stuff
Extremely disappointed that it takes a company over a month to respond when a customer is interested in their product. While I have the ability to tune, there's no way I would spend the money on tuning software if it takes this long to get general questions asked. Hope that customer service improves for those that have purchased and those interested as it sounds like there are happy customers out there. Not sure why I was ignored? Good luck.

I don't even have any products for the 4.0L right now. I'm one guy, not some big business.
I am not sure I understand. You are mad at me for not responding to you wanting to purchase something I'm no longer selling?
