That is alientech software update, not really necessary as they update for *everything*

We are working on 4.0 VF support but it's not ready to release.

The reason is depending on year the 4.0 has 3 different flash protocols

Is that just for 2GT 4.0L or all applications, like the 4th and 5th gen 4runner too?

Would this be why I couldn't flash that 35F51 4runner yesterday?

    Alright. Noted.

I'd sent you an email about what had happened, and tagged you about it in the vF 3.5L thread as well. Hoping to hear some more about what may have been wrong when you have spare time available.

any way you could link me to the correct tune for an 06 4.0L? Ive found different things saying different years of the 4.0 have different tunes and I would love to look into it. Im NA and not looking for huge performance upgrades but looking to make the truck drive right with proper throttle response.

There are some subtle differences between years, the throttle mapping on the 05-08 trucks are ever-so-slightly more aggressive than the later models.

have you done the tune? I want it to drive less like a new computerized car with the rev hang and slow throttle response and more like a throttle by cable vehicle

edit: and where can i find the info on the tune specifically? I apologize if its obvious but i cant find it haha

I've done a little over 200 2nd Gen Tacoma's. What your asking for is very easily accomplished.

Im manual and tuned by justdsm, it runs a lot better. The throttle response is is a huge improvement over stock. Seems to run smoother, in my opinion. I would recommend it.

09+ Tacoma 4.0L Tuning support in VF Tuner is set to release here soon.

We will also be releasing support for the FJ Cruiser at the same time.

Support for TRD Calibrations as well.

Some of the available tables you will get are listed below.

We are confident that our tuning suite will provide greater flexibility in calibrating these engines and more tunable parameters than ANY other tuning platforms on the market.
This isn't even the complete list, this is just what we are posting public at the moment.

    Acoustics tuning..
    RPM limiters
    High and Low Load control
    AlphaN Fuel basis tables
    AFR Breakpoints, Closed loop control
    Enrichments
    ignition,
    4WD Shift control tables
    limiter tables
Throttle Control tables (MT, emissions components, rev hang)
and much much much much more.

Release ETA is by the end of this month. **note depending on ECU ID some tables exist / do not exist. More details will be available with release**

I'm interested in a tune but not in tinkering with different parameters myself. I'd just like to buy a single 91 octane tune done by you. Is that an option?
