I meant I'm saving by not having to dump a ton of money on a new ecu. I don't mind missing out on a few bucks off, especially if it gets my order in ahead of the rush on black Friday. The Magnuson tune is seriously garbage.

Hey, didn't know this thread was here.
I currently have the bench tune and it works good.
Fixes the mpg problem, picked up 2 mpg now it will stay in closed loop when cruising with 33s. Mid range power is much better.
Very good for the first go around.

Waiting for the self tune software to get finalized so I can do the final tweaks on the truck.
I think the hand held tuner will be good for most people.
I'm too hands on for that and I have more mods in the horizon..

I can't wait we are going to finally be able to fix this ecu....

So when is the self tune software available? It's on the site or is this for pre order...

I'm confused, you've tested a tune from them?
Ditto, still don't understand why something not available is for sale yet.

Yes as we did some bench flashing on these ECUs a while back

In current form with ECUEdit, it is available. But I am pursuing an easier to setup software. (since nobody has bought it yet anyway)

Should I wait or go with ECUEdit, I've literally had the money for months.

ECUEdit is by far the best solution. The inital software setup is just not as user friendly. If you are okay with a few extra steps (like you have to register the software, and apply our XMLs in the XML Folder) then you're free to order. It's not very hard, it's just a little extra setup time.

Ok. If there are no self tune deals for black friday, then I'll purchase tomorrow morning.

    @OVTune
This self-tune you're talking about, could you elaborate?
Is it self-tuning similar to the UCON, or self tune as in we the user can tune?
Your handheld is preloaded with map(s) according to our setup?

The self tune is so you can tune it, it is not like the UCON.

    Gotcha.
So, I suppose we could get that, bring to a tuner/dyno, and have them dial it in.
    That'd be nice.

correct. you can take your software to your local tuner, let him see the maps and dyno it.

So, would you be putting in some kind of baseline map, based on what we've got, and they fine-tune it from there? Or it's just a blank slate?

Hmmm self tuner now... Or wait..

@Torspd what says you good Sir? I've got fund's in hand.. just not sure if I should wait or not. Tbh.. the convenience and ease of the pre-programmed handheld would be pretty nice.. but.. I'm sure I'd be messing with it afterwards anyways (a shop probably.. maybe myself). So maybe I should just go with the self tune option? Would probably drop down in pulley size at the same time as well..

I am gonna need to come up with a fix for when I need all of the hp's.. the snorkel is killing me.. so restrictive. Have an idea tho for a switcheable section and a cone filter to bypass the snorkel.

I must warn anyone who wants to tune their own truck, this is not something to "learn" to tune on or for beginners. Only experienced tuners. If you know nothing about fuel or ignition, or camshaft timing, you'll very easily blow your engine.

This is why I'm wanting to wait. Lol. it's either that.. or take it somewhere. Need to anyways probably.. gotta cut the snout for a smaller pulley.

If you have the time, and a trusted and reputable dyno shop near you, then go for the self tune.

As OVTune mentioned earlier, the injector size is limited, so as long as you stay within the HP range of the largest injectors that the OEM ECU can handle (I imagine 600 - 700cc, but @OVTune will be able to know for certain), then go for it and get her dialed in.
