SC w/urd pulley, afe cai, URD LT's, TRD cat back. 375hp. Custom logos, tonneau cover, westin bar with piaa lights, aero force gauges, custom front air dam, Westin step bars.
I'll be fine with a handheld unit matched to my mods and the ability to get rid of those couple of buzzers and the cel, speed limiter and firm up the shifts a little. Where and when are these bad boys available?

@OVTune I have the ucon, not that impressed.

Can your tuner control the cam gears that are in my engine already?

I have complete control of the VVT system.

Okay, folks who want a handheld tuner. I have to finalize the amount to purchase from the manufacturer. They run out quickly, and I fear 25 might not be enough for first round batch. SO, because I have to finalize this this week..I will take reservation / slots by orders and will post our black friday discount code here now. That way I can buy for all reserve slots + any extra.

If you already ordered to reserve yours I will apply the discount to your order.

it will be $449 with November holiday discount. I won't be able to get more handhelds in stock after this until closer to Christmas.

    Discount code: ReserveTaco

Same code can be used for DIY solution.

I don't mean to rush anyone, but I don't want to get bit in the butt like I did when I did the first round with the 3rd gens. Had 10 kits and 5x as many customers ready to kill me haha.

You've already got my order, I assume you'll email me to coordinate the ECU shipping and tunes and all that. Super stoked to be able to break 4,000 rpm without knocking.

    Awesome!

The DIY tuner- would it be preloaded with any maps at all to flash our ECUs, to where we can plug and play, or would it only be a blank slate where we would need to bring it to a tuner?
I like the idea of it being tuneable, as I'm going to be supercharging it, but I'd like to have a tune based on the mods I've got already, without having to go to a tuner.
Basically have fun out of the box :D

@OVTune can correct anything I write wrong here but I think I can answer. Usually the DIY tuner is just software and a cable. Load the software on a laptop and connect it to the truck via OBD2 port. From there you can load any tube you want, obviously you want a stock or modified tune for your truck. Now you can build the tune yourself or have someone do it for you, remote or better yet on a dyno. It sounds to me like you’d be better suited for the handheld with preset tunes, only downside is you rely on OVTune to do all the tuning. Not saying they won’t do a good job but it’s always better to have a custom tune made for your truck in your location (this takes care of temperature/weather impacts as well).

Here is how it works, exactly.

Handheld tuner - plug and play option that allows you to flash our tunes, that we develop for the engine and transmission. The handheld will hold 5 tunes, with different settings (like 87 octane tune, 91 octane tune, towing tune, etc)

Handheld tuner "SC" - Exact as above but tunes developed specifically for the TRD Supercharger

DIY Tuning Kit - Software + OBDII USB Cable that allows you to open your stock ECU file, edit maps as you wish, and tune the car yourself. Adjust your own ignition, or fueling, datalog the results, make changes you need. Comes with your OEM tune and we can provide a few helpful base files.

DIY Tuning Kit - Custom tune option - not yet listed, but we can use the same kit and make the tune for you.

The big difference here is the handheld comes with our Plug and Play style tunes for the engine. No additional work necessary, no datalogging, no back and forth.

I thought you'd also said earlier that with the DIY kit (NOT the custom tune one), you could get the handheld tunes to install if you so desired to start there, then tune that, or further tune those handheld baseline files later

I've got a local dyno I plan to hit as soon as possible after the hardware comes in. I've already done baseline pulls.

So sounds like I need the DIY tuner. @Torspd what do you think? I'd like to be able to get something going that's a little better than the TRD tune.. right out of the box. Sorry if that was covered and I misread... But is that possible? A "helper" file like mentioned. To get things rolling... Then take it to a shop and have them fine tune it on the Dyno?

OVTune basically stated that the First level DIY setup will be that right there. With some base files to help you get started.

Be clear to state that you already have the TRD flash, incase it makes a difference.

As stated earlier, the s/c tune has expanded load tables.

That being said, you'd need to make sure to notify them of the fact that you have an F/I system.

I imagine that since TRD s/c owners sent their ECU's in with those TRD files, that they now have that file to redistribute.

You the buyer would just need to have that conversation.

You'd also need to know which size injectors you have.

Remember, that the OEM ECU can only handle so large an injector size. OVTune had not divulged what that exact size is yet, but that also needs to be brought up, incase you plan to step up from thw TRD/Magnuson injectors (~425ccm?).
