Im also hoping that, with the tuning portion taken care of, that we see some more off the shelf turbo parts start popping up for this motor

@OVTune can you set up a discount code for local pick up that will eliminate the shipping fee ? I live 5 miles from you...

It will be a couple months, but I'm piecing together parts. Truck needs some work first, timing chain, timing chain gasket, power steering. I've seen it done before, I've followed @Torspd 's build for as long as I've been on. I don't want to stroke it like he did but I do want to make sure the engine can take it. There's lots of hoops I'll have to jump through but I'm willing to make it work. I was going to go LT but decided to cut back, go MT, and spend the money elsewhere. I'm going to go lean first with boost when I get to that point, the engine's already running with 105k miles. Once I can settle and have it run smooth with low numbers, I'll probably build the engine for more. Overbore, sleeve and go as close back to stock displacement, and go from there.

Don't forget a bigger heat exchanger, too. You know, just for more overkill.

@OVTune What is the HP and Torque increase for a naturally aspirated 4.0? Looked on the ste and can’t see it. Thanks.

I would say the hand held tuner will be good for most people...
If you want the most out it yeah you have to self tune, but need to be good at tuning or get some dyno time..

For me it's also my hobby, I like tuning and can't wait to go through the maps of the Tacoma. I all ready have a bunch of ideas I want to try out...
Plus I can spend a lot more time fine tuning it the way I like.

I will say either way you can't loose...

I plan on doing comparison dyno pulls as soon as possible once I get the hardware. Lead time for my dyno is usually about a week.

I check my email daily but some stuff I have to get to before others. If it's about dynoing I will get back to that stuff once I have more dyno days locked down.

As for turbo stuff, definite possibility and we work closely with a company that makes amazing turbo kits.

Since you won't be shipping the handhelds anytime really soon, any info on when you'll be shipping self tune kits? Cause I want mine

SC w/urd pulley, afe cai, URD LT's, TRD cat back. 375hp. Custom logos, tonneau cover, westin bar with piaa lights, aero force gauges, custom front air dam, Westin step bars.
Ordered...sure hope this thing arrives tomorrow with that promised 100rwhp/10 mpg gains...right???

Ok, I didn't see any info on the tuning parameters so I'm assuming with the 4.0 TRD sc & flash, 2.7 pulley, cai, long tubes, cat back and 320 pump this tuner is capable of making all those items love each other even more as well as firm up the shifts, remove the speed limiter, bump up the redline a little and get rid of that annoying cel.
Another 10-15hp and a little better mpg would be great.

When exactly are these things scheduled to ship???
