my handheld does not work. I sent you the readout you asked for the end of November. I sent it again the end of December and again in a PM last week. What is the delay that is stopping me and others from getting to the same point as those who have sent you their readouts? I don't like being ignored, it makes me feel like you see me as less important than others. I am now on 6 weeks of waiting for my unit to be able to do step (1). If you are waiting for an ECU to fix checksum errors on TRD this would be a perfect time to get all the paid for units past step (1). Why is that not happening?

If some have sent you their readouts, why are no paid customers running a tune? I say one post with results and he appeared to be a beta tester. Are all the readouts you have failing on checksums? Are some of them able to get a tune but you have not sent it out yet? this is important because your web site says up to 72 hours turn around.... based on what I see here I have a lengthy delay waiting for me after I can get past step (1).

A majority of the people have trd version ecus, along with a few others that need added with a proper checksum.

It's not possible to get past step one without the file being saved in the database for the handheld with a proper checksum, otherwise your ecu will brick.

Not a beta tester, paid customer with a handheld. Likely not on the forum, I don't know.

I'm not ignoring anyone, I'm continuing to work on this to get everything in working order. I rarely respond to pms on here because I have so many, it's hard to track, and have no idea who the user is in most cases.

Like if someone pms me " any updates for the tune "...which..3.5 MT, AT, 4.0? No idea. So normally I don't respond ( and as I always say email when possible )

It's not that your or anyone's handheld is defective or broken, it's the matter of having the correct file in the database with a clean checksum to match. Which is exactly what I'm pursuing.

so if I understand correctly (which I did not before).... you are saying the checksum error is not in the voodoo you do after you get the unit but it is instead an error in the step (1) saving of the raw ECU data? If that is the case then I completely understand why you have not been updating the code to handle my Truck.... please confirm that you cannot get me past step (1) until the checksum issue is fixed and that issue will not be fixed until you get the ECU and can test. if that is the case I will crawl back under my rock and wait it out.

@mercerc I appreciate what you said and have been wanting to post the same.

@OVTune I truly believe you are capable of delivering and expect my money spent to buy the handheld from you will be worth it.

Your two explanations are understandable but please be more communicative here. I don’t do Facebook either. I’ve sent you unanswered PMs also.

Please keep us informed about the good and the bad as it happens and we will continue to support your invested time, energy and money in your intellectual property.

    Thanks, Ed

Yes that's the only reason. Once checksums are OK we are all set. I can get it from a ecu but converting it from Toyota oem CUW files ( which I normally do ) is causing the error.

So once the ecu is here I'm going to flash every version rom to it and extract directly from the processor. Zero chance or checksum issues this way

@OVTune i sent you a pm on the 12th after you posted to send you a message. I wasn't sure if that meant pm or email but I didn't get a response and don't want to get left out so I'll post it here.

"Hello, I have a non TRD ecu for the 4.0 and you said to send you the Id. Is this the same as the calibration ID or something else? My clibration code is 30473000. If this is not what you need please let me know asap and where to find the correct code. Thanks"

I believe OVT may have been referring to ECUs flashed with the TRD supercharger tune. Last piece to the puzzle that would allow seamless integration across the 05-15 v6 trucks. I could be wrong.

haha.. I thought about that but would have expected to see "SC" and not TRD... oh well.... now I am back to square one and should be able to complete step (1) as I do not have a supercharger, TRD , URD or otherwise.

If you've generated a calibration error code, that's part of step one. My calibration code was different than yours. As much as I'm sure we'd all like to see our codes entered so we can proceed to step too, I can see where OVT would rather get them all in the database and be done in one swoop and not have to go back into his database Everytime someone with a new ECU comes along. Once the whole library of ecus have been added, less programming work and more time dedicated to tuning for them. :notsure:

I have a 2006 Tacoma 4.0 auto, TRD Off-road. Ive skimmed through all 65 pages but the only thing that I saw is that we aren't sure if it works yet on pre 09 tacomas. I am interested in this and would like to know if it is compatible with my truck. If it is, the plug and play option, do i have to send you guys my ecu serial number? or is that for something else? excuse my ignorace.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you have the same ecu as me. I'm an 06 trd off-road also.

I was referring to non TRD supercharged flash. I have a 2011 TRD TX Pro. Extra special name but it's a off-road with wheels and exhaust.

I do, it does not as of yet provide a tune for my truck. Looking like I'll be selling my truck in the near future so I've actually got my handheld up for sale.

Do you need one with the TRD SC tune in it in order to properly tune for those of us with TRD sc tunes? I've got a spare one if needed.

    You just did.
I'm guessing he is setup to receive these and I've posted twice now on having a ecu out of a 2010 Tacoma with a TRD sc tune in it. I've had no response.

The 23 has come and gone. I think that was about the 3rd date given that we'd be getting the units to work. It appears I am no longer the army of 1 on folks running out of patience on this product not being ready. Heck I'm 6 medical tests done and still not able to use the product. But I know, I should just realize we are on the cutting edge and just give it another few weeks....
