What are the settings you have for boosted applications? I personally would prefer not to increase my engine redline more than 500rpm.

That seems like some pretty decent praise.

Rev limit is not extended on SC tunnes.
It's also only a maximum of 300 rpm on NA flashes

Out of curiosity, was this tuner able to firm up shifts in any way? Im avoiding doing the valve body upgrade if i dont have to. I know they cant really be equated to eachother, but sometimes the easy way is just enough for the application. I thought last time i looked our mods were fairly similar.

When I had the tune installed @OVTune said he could do some things to make it shift firmer but that it wouldn’t be as good as the valvebody. I never had him modify the shifting as I installed the valvebody upgrade a few weeks later.

Hmmmmmm. Guess ill have to look into it when the time comes and these are out for sale again. Im at the point now where my shifts literally depend on the weather. If its around -20 to +30f it hangs up on the shifts (i assume from the extra boost) but when its warmer out its usually not an issue. I am thinkng this mod would the the straw that pushed it over the edge.

Just out of curiosity, what would happen if I put a 91 NA tune in my truck and accidentally
    put 87 in the tank?

Ed, Any chance you could share a performance mods list on your NA truck?
I have been following this thread since start-up to see if performance pans out on NA.
Do you have any plans to dyno?

Who are you? Ovtune's Secretary? It's a simple question anyone who purchased a handheld should be asking? I meant no disrespect to ovtune. Since I paid for my handheld and i am evaluating what tune to use I will ask more questions.

As long as you are NA, it MIGHT knock real bad and hopefully that would give your uninformed drivers an alert to notify you. At that point you let them know to drive really mellow until they get get to the nearest quickmart to purchase some octane booster.

This is actually an important question and something important to understand. The ignition is calibrated to maximize power and efficiency for the expected octane, the 91 octane tune has ignition advance targets that are not safe to run with 87 octane. It's *unlikely* that you will cause permanent damage, BUT the truck will detonate (ping, knock) very heavily and the ecu will reduce the ignition advance multiplier to the lowest possible level. This will put the ECU into it's safe maps and you will get worse performance than stock.

It is important that you use the required octane that the flash calls for, or higher.
For example on a 91 map you can use 91,92,93, etc. But not lower than 91.
On an 87 map you can use 87 or higher, but not 86/85. I know in some states with high elevation like colorado and utah there is 85 at the pump, I do not recommend using this even on a stock truck. I lived and tuned in colorado for a number of years and know for a fact that the elevation is not saving you from knock with 85 octane. Especially since these states do get quite hot in the summer.
