Although they maybe the same tuner, the SC option is more. I'm assuming he will only give access to certain tune/map files depending on what tuner you paid for?

I do plan to do the 4runner, but the tundra I'm working with 2 shops to provide solutions for. You should see the 5.7 turbo kit being done that I'm tuning. 1200HP capable kit.

As far as standard tundra tuning, unlikely. Simply don't have the capacity

No plans to do dual vvti tune Mat? I will probably own a 4Runner next year with that engine.

Yes I definitely will be doing the dual vvt 4runner. I actually almost bought one I really like how they look and drive. Wish they weren't so expensive. Here in california I'm seeing TRD version at $60K+

I was asking as the tundra also shares the 1gr. Never hurts to have revenue with a modular platform. ;)

    @OVTune Mat,

When will YWG2900 be available? How far down the queue is it?

Definitely planning to buy this. Price is right and there doesn't seem to be anything this affordable or reliable in production that can help us N/A guys this much! Just waiting on the tax returns and maybe a dyno sheet for stock trucks. Keep those reviews coming!

Just a short review as I haven't been out on the highway and the roads are too icey to floor it. I'm running the 91 tune and there's a noticeable increase in power at 2000 rpm. The rpm's increase quicker between 2000-4000rpm. Also an increase in low end torque. I have to climb up a long hill everyday and it used to gear down part way up, now it's able to hold speed. The transmission shift points must of been increased, during slow acceleration the truck revs higher before shifting, something I'll have to get used to.

2014 TRD Sport double cab long bed. V6, 4.0 L Automatic, 5-Spd Four-Wheel Drive (Link) No supercharger and no plans to add one.

Mileage yesterday (using ScanGauge and without trailer) was 11.5mpg at 2500RPM at 73mph with light grade uphill and heavy rain. Sucks!

Goal - Looking to improve highway mileage for normal driving and have specifically tuned options for towing trailer (especially out west with steep grades) and during off-roading events. Handheld tuner sounds like what I am looking for.

Still can’t figure out why my MPGs are so low unless it is overall extra weight???

    • Icon Stage III in front and AllPro Expedition springs in back
    • Dual battery system (third deep charge battery in back seat)
    • Hard topper for the back
    • CBI rear bumper
    • CBI swing gate for bumper with spare tire and off-road gear in aluminum box
    • Relentless aluminum bumper on the front with winch
    • Sliders
    • Relentless skids (two steel, one aluminum)
    • Baja roof rack.
    Other Items
    • 285/70/R17's Falken Wildpeak AT3s (33s)
    • Airflow snorkel and Borla exhaust
Trailer weighs about 1,500lbs with about 60lbs tongue weight. Back of truck is usually loaded up with another 300lbs.

Considering 3.88 gears. Would that change any tuning parameters?

That sounds like a serious amount of added weight from bumpers /skids / swing gate / 285 tires
A swap to 3.88's would be negligible IMO.
Any reason why your not considering 4.10's for your tire size / extra weight?

That's mega weight. Topper, winch, bumpers, 3! Batteries, sliders and skids as well as a toolbox/tools and 300 extra pounds of gear.

On top of that you have the big heavy tires adding rotational mass. And the lift makes you less aerodynamic.

Have you ever taken your truck onyo a weigh scale? I bet you are 1500 lbs over stock weight.

Going to next time I head out to feed store. Weighed my trailer there but definitely need to do the truck. Makes me real concerned for wear and tear on truck.

Is there any plan to sell the self tuning kits or is it only the handheld tuners from now on?

Awwwww heck yea, I can buy one now...

What ECU is a 2005, A750, single vvti 1gr? I assuming that the earlier models have been added but I'm not sure since I found this thread sorta late in the game. Im sure it has been mentioned before, Im just too lazy to go over this whole thing. :D Stuff looks good, can't wait to see N/A dynos.
