Hey guys, you have a nice web site. I dig the background images, however it makes your FAQ page really difficult to read.

Any chance with what you can now manipulate in the ECU...could incorporate a way to change the ECU to accept a 5th Tire Pressure Sensor?

Using TechStream I can only input 4 sensor codes but the 5th (spare tire) slot is visible but you can't register a 5th code to monitor the pressure in the spare.

Here Mat. 89661-04C61. This is my 2007 Tacoma manual trans 4x4 1GR. This particular ecu has been reflashed with the TRD tune for their supercharger. I can get you the calibration number next week if that helps. It's not the plastic version you mentioned. It's aluminum on one side and tin on the other. I was able to sneak my phone in there and grab a picture of the backside without having to remove the ecu at all. Took 5 minutes.

I'm very interested in a way to tune this ecu. Solving the super annoying rev hang thing it does as well. Would like access to ignition and timing maps at all manifold pressures. I mention that because I've read that with the TRD tune, as soon as you get into positive manifold pressures, the ecu basically goes open loop and is just operating off a super rich, super safe 2D map.

I would LOVE an autotune type option using an output from a wideband afr setup. My particular wideband also employs a failsafe feature that will ground a wire if the afr (Or boost) steps out of my preset parameters. Would be unbelievably awesome if I could use that output to trigger a soft ignition kill type condition in the ecu. Perhaps a sort of hot trigger for the stock rev-limiter?

I'm sure guys with more hardcore mods would like the ability to adjust for larger injectors and such. The X-Runner crowd would certainly be all over these abilities as well.

IMO, this tune for the 03-15 1grfe. Tacomas, 4runners, fjcruiser would be huge. Literally millions of vehicles out there. Over a ten year window of dang near identical powertrains. And a rabid interest in customizing by a large portion of owners.

    Sign me up.

 I see you're in Az too. There are a few of us boosted guys here in Az waiting to see what comes of this and are gong to try and get together to tune/diagnose if it happens.

They're just getting the 3rd gens dialed in so I'm sure they haven't been working on any other new products just yet.

Reading manifold "pressure" will be difficult, since there is no MAP sensor. Pressure could be extrapolated based off of the load from the MAF sensor. You are correct that after certain set points are met, it goes into open loop.

Question: I have a friend who has a Tundra and he drove it up into the Colorado Rockies for a couple weeks. While he was up there he noticed that he was getting better mileage. When he got back to Oregon he told his dealer this story and the Dealer told him that its all in the tuning. He said that they could tune his Tundra so that it would get better mileage such as when he was in the higher altitudes but it is actually illegal for them to do so... would we be able to duplicate tuning that the dealer was referring to so we can get better mileage?

better mpg due to less air resistance mainly, also less pumping losses through the motor due to thinner air. Happens with every vehicle.

    dealer cant tune shit.

I completely agree, that the "dealer cant tune shit." Also, while it "happens to every vehicle," the effect can be mitigated with forced induction.

While air resistance is less at altitude, that's less of a factor (at "normal" driving speeds) than the fact that less air equates to less gas being pumped into the engine. Both point to better gas mileage and inversely worse performance.

    I'm in.

C'mon Mat. What say ye? We're the tip of the iceberg. I know you're busy on other stuff. But, we're out here. And there's a LOT of us. I believe most have given up on a way to tune the oe ecu. You're offering, even teasing, that you can do it.

Pretty please. With sugar on top!

    Does that help?

I am definitely interested, just wondering if this programmer could trick out the rear O2 sensors for those running either high flo cats or no cats at all to prevent ODB errors and loss of performance.

I am planning to replace my whole exhaust line in the near future, and would definitely go that way with added benefits. If not URD would still be a viable option with their rear O2 sensors simulator.
