It's not terribily helpfull that the Chevy/GMC twins took up two of the upper slots.

Hey, it was the cheapest though. Consolation for that $35k spent.

Even though it finished behind the Ridgeline.

However, they did admit that if the testing were more off-road oriented Tacoma would have been the winner.

Intetesting !!! What I noticed is the person that gave the highest of any rating (180 pts) was a female to the Ridgeline by a big margin and is what we have been talking about here. That put Ridgeline up in the finish over the Taco.

So a female gave the Ridgeline the highest rating? I think any guy that buys one needs to turn in his man card, or better yet, get a mini van with a little 4x6 trailer to tow around.

The Ridgeline really looks like a minivan from the front. Soft flowing curves. It looks like a giant boob. Put a tassel over the H and its a stripper tit.

The Ridgeline is a Betty car, might as well buy a Volkswagen Beetle to go along with it.

So the 3rd gen Toyota is the slowest of the bunch, 2nd to last for fuel economy, mid pack towing, 2nd to last in payload.. but hey atleast its good at offroading ( which 95% of owners never actual do).

Most of those numbers are so close its not worth even discussing, plus the Taco looks bad ass and will outlast the pack.
Go with chevy quality and maybe Honda will make a truck for more than a year this time lol. Don't even start me on gmc. Did I mention resale ?

I would NEVER buy a Chevy/GMC product. Even if they were the last manufacturers of cars in the world.

I love Nissans, but the Fronty is so old it's a bit like trolling the saucy senior section on craigslist.

Shootouts for this class of trucks are stupid because technically this class of vehicle IS STUPID. Let me be clear, I've loved both my Tacomas, but it's amazingly impractical for almost everything. Pickup trucks are designed to do one thing well, and one thing only- carry a load in the bed. But Americans buy them by the scores because 'MERICA. They are horrible in the snow, they don't have interior cargo space, they don't get good fuel mileage, they don't ride as well as cars, the tires are more expensive, they go through brakes quicker... and the thing they are designed to do, the MAIN FUCKING PURPOSE of a pickup truck- this class of vehicle SUCKS AT- carrying a load of "heavy" cargo! So therefore, these shootouts are invalid, because the people that buy these trucks do so because they love them, not criteria or performance or logic or value or anything.

Slower than Honda by 1.2 sec, 3mpg less than Honda, 400+ lbs less payload than Honda. Ya, so close...
It's ok to be a little butt hurt because your beloved Taco lost to the womanly Ridgeline.

And The first gen Ridgeline was made for 8 years I believe...

You can knock the ridgeline on looks ( though subjective) and some other areas . But there are some functions that I wish the new Tacoma had, the double function tailgate is handy , the storage bin under the bed is awesome, the interior is head and shoulders above the Toyota. Give credit where it's due.

Why not? I had a GMC Sierra denali AWD with 6.2L. Truck was bad ass and never gave me a single issue. Only reason I got rid of it is the practicality of having a smaller less expensive vehicle for taking hunting and off road.
