    The reoccurring rust at weld sites is a mix of things including contamination that isn’t fully cleaned when the frame is originally painted, a change in the base metallurgy and whatever they are using for filler.

    That frame is solid. No frame up north is completely spotless regardless of what car/truck you buy. But that frame has been taken care of. Coat it with fluid film before every winter and it will outlast you.

    That frame has been painted . If it was me I would wire wheel / hand wire brush the rust areas showing. I would apply Opho , Eastwood primer . Eastwood black chassis paint and Amsoil heavy duty metal protector. All of the above steps apply 2 coats where proper PPE and read the directions. + 1 for the post about Eastwood internal frame protector get the 360 deg. nozzle attachment.

    I cut an old garden hose clamped to the A/C condensate drain on passenger side fire wall and ran the hose outside the frame. Winter is coming GL
