Recently I’ve been looking at used Tacomas on marketplace. I have some pictures of a frame on one of the Tacomas, can anyone tell me if it looks to be in ok condition?

Looks like someone tried painting over rust.

So the rust doesn't look that bad, it's still early. but the fact that someone painted over it to try and hide it, instead of you know, removing it, or fluid filming the vehicle would make me

    1. Not trust the person.

    2. Doubt that all the appropriate maintenance was done to the vehicle at the right intervals.

    3. Suspect there would be other underlying issues.

    4. Not want to do business with someone trying to make me a fool.

    5. Do you really want to do the work to actually stop the rust from spreading under your paint on a vehicle you JUST bought?

Check what it's worth on KBB. If he isn't selling it for at least 5k under that price, no go. It's not going to be a good truck for the money, unless it's significantly cheaper than other trucks you find that are being sold at their actual value.

That's a no from me dawg. Look at the big chunks flaking off at the rear upper shock mount. Also looking at that cab mount I guarantee you there's a hole in that. Same spot my 2009 developed a hole.

No way, that pic from the rear shows the left side is a mess with paint over it.

I noticed you posted this in the North East sub forum. I don't know how far from Maryland you are but I stumbled across this ad for a 1st gen on Facebook. Shared it in the 1st gens for sale sub forum.

Not my truck but just thought I'd share with you since you're in the market. Idk what condition the frame is in. You'd have to contact the seller

    Welcome To the Forum!

It comes down to Price The drive Train and your skills..

All of these First Generation Trucks are going to need lots of maintenance.

How much you can do factors in.
