    Wish I'd known the 6 cylinders get as good as mileage as the 4 I probably would have bought one.

    If I drive decent and not like a crazed lunatic I average like 19.5 mpg. Best I ever got was 20.8, that was on open road, driving speed limit or little over.

    Short, quick trips around town drops my mpg fast, mine evidently doesn'tlike stopping and starting.:)

    What year/specs was your Xterra? My dad has an '05 SE 4x4 with the 4.0 VQ and he gets the same mileage almost to the dot as my 4.0 4x4 Sport DCSB (both right around 19.5-20).

    Yes. Larger tires will result in a real speed that is higher than the indicated speed (your speedometer will read low). Your odometer will also read low (your real miles traveled will be higher than indicated).

    I drive almost all in the city and get ~26 mpg in the summer. Highway is 28-30 mpg. Wintertime is about 19 mpg city. This is in Missouri, where summer gets up to 95 and winter is down to 0 degrees. I don't know about anybody else, but i just might have the most fuel efficient pickup truck ever.

    22 mpg last tank and that includes lift, 285s, and a lot of extra weight. The gas was ethanol free :D

    2007, 4/auto, extended cab, camper shell
    * In town: 18 MPG
    * On the road: 24 MPG (60-65 MPH)
    * Stripped down and stock (no camper shell or heavy load)/cruise control/55 MPH/abt 2000 ft/ abt 60 deg F/ abt 250 mi: 36 MPG.
    The 36 MPG was obtained on a trip during an unplanned test to get the best possible MPG. Route was a flat, smooth asphalt road with little traffic during the fall in the high desert between Bishop, CA and Boron, CA going south (Thin, cool air and VERY slight downhill.). Started with a full tank in Bishop and measured fill-up in Boron. I have not had a chance to try this again to see if it is repeatable. Vehicle was still relatively new and had only stock equipment and tires.
    I have found that the road speed has a large impact on the fuel economy. The vehicle has the streamlining of a box rather than a rocket.

    A little of this and a little of that.
    I've been getting 17.3 and 17.6 mpg for the first couple of fill-ups. I changed my oil and put in a synthetic flavor and on the first fill-up calculated 18.5 mpg. Not a huge deal but I was happy.

    My 2006 4.0 gets 22 mpg in town and 25 mpg on the highway. Which is nice since we do a pretty good bit of traveling.

    631 miles on my 2011 Access Cab 4x4 2.7 and just got 21.8 mpg. All country driving on two-land roads. Hoping for a little more after I change to synthetic fluids and break it in some more.
