It is that filter sock you mentioned was clogged (inside the fuel bow)

Underdog racing development makes an external filter conversion if your fuel pump ends up being bad, id buy their kit. Allows you to use a napa gold external inline filter

Did you confirm there is no fuel being pumped? Or you simply just don’t hear it turn on? If you’re able to I’d start disconnecting plugs and what not and cleaning them up good and trying again.

The fuel filter is that sock that attached to the end/bottom of the stock fuel pump- can be seen below[IMG]

When it comes to anything electrical, always buy factory parts, its way to much work to take a chance on aftermarket parts.

    How did you verify this?

Did you make sure power was present on the wire that goes to the fuel pump before you removed it?

Maybe the pump was fine the whole time and it just lost its power supply. Did the engine stall out while driving?

Kind correction. The sock is the sock. Pre fuel pump.

The filter is the white canister, surrounding the pump, and above the sock.

This is the circuit for the fuel pump: https://www.customtacos.com/tech.ol...6toyewd/06toypdf/ewd/2006/tacoma/h/em01d3.pdf

    IGN Fuse 20A fuse >> C/OPN Relay Coil >> ECM >> Ground.

ECM Energizes the coil for the EFI Relay.

EFI Fuse 20A >> EFI Relay Contact >> C/OPN Relay Contact >> Fuel Pump Relay Contact >>Fuel Pump Resistor >> Fuel Pump Motor >> Ground.

    Failure points are usually:

    1. Fuses IGN or EFI Both are 20 amp fuses.
    2. C/OPN Relay.
    3. EFI Relay.
    4. Fuel Pump Relay.
    5. Fuel Pump Resistor.
    6. Fuel Pump.

If you are not getting power to the pump it would probably be any of 1 through 5 or a wire. Remote chance it could be the ECM.

NOTE: The fuel pump relay is only used to shift the pump between fast and slow speed. Slow speed the resistor is in the circuit, fast speed it is not in the circuit. It uses slow speed when idle or low load condition and fast speed on high loads and high speed conditions.
