My 11' dclb is fun to drive. Sufficient power when empty...loves to spin its tires... Gets sideways on highway offramps if im feeling it. At first i hated the traction aids, but now i like them. I turn them off when i want to have fun, but if im just relaxing / tired they make it much easier to drive around without turning on 4wd in the snow. Ive never had a vehicle beep at me so much.

Compared to my 99' 4runner its way more fun to drive because of the superior auto tranny and way more power than the 3.4. It also has more interior room / leg room (im 6'4"). It makes me smile.

Yes, I believe its a thing. I bought the first FJ Cruiser my dealership had and I was surprised to find out, after I had it, that the 6-spd manual came with mandatory full time 4 wheel drive and the engine demanded 91 octane. It was still a fantastic vehicle, but mileage was not great and high test was not cheap. No possibility of lighting them up or drifitng the corners, but it was unstoppable in the snow and tons of fun on fast trails.

This might be fun to drive.

Too bad they aren't even using that car as inspiration. The FRS is the only Toyota car that comes close to being a driver's car, and it's technically a Scion with a Subaru motor. Toyota seems to have given up on driver's car for the USDM.

I think this thread has convinced me to keep my Tundra. Sure, it's bigger than a DC Tacoma, but the 5.7 is pretty snotty and it seems that I won't escape the automatic tranny or the electronic nanny with the Tacoma. At least I can still tow my boat.

Interesting....Mind giving a brief "How to" on this?

Just got my 09 and having to stop, hold the button for 5 seconds to disable auto LSD and the trac control is a pain in my arse.

If you ground out the blue wire with the yellow stripe (pin 20 on the 4wd ECU) it disables ABS, VSC, and auto LSD. I just ran the wire through a 2 pole switch to ground.

This was for a 2005 truck, investigate and use on yours at your own risk.
