This kills my theory. I was thinking he was using an upsell shop selling him stuff he didn’t need.

3k a year seems awful high. Even for an extremely inexperienced mechanic, that’s a lot of oopses.

I suspect being unhappy makes some people happy.

My sales pickup is a 2023 Frontier and while I like my tacoma better overall, the frontier is vastly more comfortable/fun to drive.

 

I guess you have a good point, at least we can find the humor in it.

 

Agreed Tacomas are overrated. OP is right yall who are we kidding….,, I know we talk a lot of big game about ‘reliability’ but let’s face it. We’re all just Fred flinstoning our trucks to the next mall. Thank you OP for your bravery

I have a very unreliable 2013 VW CC.. i can drive it okay, makes some noises, i have a coolant leak somewhere, the dash is a xmas tree.. and i only spend roughly $1200-$1500 a year to keep it going.. $3k for OP, idk if he is using the old zimbabwe currency or if he is dealing with acorns and pine cones, i don't see how $3k a year makes sense.

Done nothing to my 2013, been nothing but reliable, original owner 190k miles
When I say done nothing I mean have to fix stuff. I do keep up with routine maintenance.

 

In the 17 years i've had my 07 the only issue i've had so far was a burned out tail light bulb around 13 years ago.


Edit... just hit 35,500 miles.
