    Hey Tacoma World,

Sad to say my Tacoma (2012 4 cylinder access cab) got in a wreck this weekend. I hit another car’s passenger side with the front of my Tacoma (other driver’s fault) so all the damage is to the front. From what I can tell the frame is still in good shape. When I wrecked, there was a steam released, with a hissing sound, and green fluid was leaking. Thinking this was AC fluid, because the coolant in the reservoir is pink. The radiator seems intact - no damage to the fins. The crash bar is pretty wrecked, but looks like it did it’s job. I’ve only tried to drive it around the neighborhood, but it seems to be driving fine. Questions for the forum are: 1) What was the neon green fluid that leaked? Probably AC fluid? 2) What was the hissing sound/steam release due to? Maybe a valve/hose or something more serious?

    Thanks for the help! Zach

    Too little information.

"Green fluid was leading but coolant is pink ".

What does that give us other than subjective commentary.

If your coolant is actually pink the only thing that might be green is AC.

Provide facts, we'll try to help navigate this situation. From the images you've posted things don't seem awfully heavy duty.

Most likely the green is the oil from the A/C system, the green is dye added to the oil to aid in the location of leaks.
The steam/hissing you referred to was likely the refrigerant and oil escaping from the A/C system.
By the location of the damage the condenser and/or line(s) going to it likely got punctured.

What difference does it all make. You have insurance, the other driver has insurance, so just take it to a reputable shop for repairs and have them sort it all out.

Sorry to hear about your Tacoma. The green fluid is likely the oil from the air conditioning system as previously mentioned.

Hopefully the damage will be estimated low enough for the insurance company to fix or repair your truck!

He did provide facts it seems. Additionally your quote of him is found nowhere in his post. At least not verbatim as your post would seem to suggest.

Green is the AC liquid, it's under pressure so when you broke the line you heard it hiss out. you can see one of the two aluminum AC lines where part of your bumper is missing. Just don't turn on your AC or your windshield defrost (which turns on your AC) you can damage it by running it dry. Consider pulling the AC fuse just in case.
I damaged one of those lines before. Replaced it and recharged the system and it's been fine for a few years now.

A/C uses a mix of PAG oil and R134a.

Impact likely busted part of the cooling system (radiator) and part(s) of the A/C system such as condenser, etc.
