Thank you very much @Nitori and @ETXTacoma for posting install tips and your review. I'm happy you both experienced a ride improvement, it's a nice reward for spending a day under your truck.

I think the ride improvement will be more noticeable the heavier the wheel/tire combo gets, and the higher air pressure you run.

A word of advice for those still waiting to install, the vertical rivet has a small weld on some years, cut that off with a Dremel to save lots of time.

I'm glad my install is from a shackle flip so it's just jack off truck, unbolt old stuff, bolt on new stuff, flexy shenanigans.

Not sure what your lift numbers in the rear came out to, but typically SUA is somewhere around 1.5-2.25 inches in lift.

@Bajatxpro on IG is working on his SUA/Hammer hanger conversion . Those U644/645 are the light duty and lifted a customers Access cab about 1-1.25"(9.5" from top of axle tube to bottom of frame rails, Double cab will be lower, but you should have a super smooth ride.

Get those shackle bolts through rear spring eye turned around pointing outboard or they'll scrape the hanger tube

That's true, I have the HD U539/540 springs, and I got ~2" lift unloaded over stock springs.

I cant remember my exact spring number but I got right around 2 inches as well with being HD. So would having light duty springs have less lift?

Ok, I ordered the HH a couple of weeks ago and now I’m anxiously waiting for their delivery! Need help trying to decide what shocks to run.
What is the longest travel shock I can run in the OEM buckets? I’m currently running the RCD Bilstiens which have a stroke of around 16.3” to 27.2”, with Allpro Expo leaf springs and a shackle flip. I’ve got maybe 3” max of up travel now, but im hoping on lowering the rear about 1.5”. Right now it sits a little too tail high for my liking. But if I lower it, then I’m worried about not having enough up travel. Which shocks are y’all finding to be the best for the HH conversion? I carry a lot of weight in the back too. I’m looking into Icons w/adjusters, kings w/adjusters, or Fox. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The 3.6" shackles have a lead time so I should be shipping in a couple weeks, unless you want me to ship hangers separately first.

I think that is the longest compressed length you'll fit and have similar bump height to stock, I feel the shocks are fine, I think you might have more than 3" up travel, what are you running for bump stops? Honestly, I think you need to look in depth at how your rear parts are working together after the HH are installed, like the air bags. Go through it, look for issues with your springs, maybe try greasing the bushings.

Hmm I’ve notice the rear end on my truck seems super chattery when getting up to speed off road. I’m running Icon extended travel remote resi shocks and RXT leafs (as they come, did not add additional leaf) which lifted the rear 1.875 from stock. I’m super interested in getting a hangar/shackle setup but I would like to keep the rear end same height. Is that possible with any of the options available? Appreciate any info OP!

Those bilsteins are the biggest you'll get in stock location. Any longer and you'd seriously sacrifice up travel. You'll need a shock relocation to go to a bigger shock, like a 12" or 14"

I put the truck on a 2 post lift yesterday at a friends shop to check the full droop of the rear end, check to make sure I have enough slack in the lines, and to check the torque on any bolt I could get to.

But here are the measurements before and after the Hammer Hangers.

I measured on flat ground from the lip of the fender well to the ground both passenger and driver side.
    Before HH - 42.5"
    After HH - 43.25"

Difference = +.75" in the rear approx.

    Travel measurements
Before HH - Icon Shock Max Travel - 10"
After HH - Icon Shock Max Travel - 11.5"

    Difference = +1.5" Travel
    IMG_2380.jpg IMG_2439.jpg

I have enough slack in the Diff Breather Line, ABS Wiring, Air Lock Liner, and with adding some spacers on the bottom bracket for the brake line, there is enough slack in the brake lines that there would not be an issue. I had a set of +6 brake lines to go on... but looking at it, they are going to be too long honestly at no droop, so I am going to try and sell those and get a set of +4 as they should be pretty much perfect.

Are you running 12" shocks in the stock location?
