Okay, I’ll play. Hangers, plus relocate. If anyone’s looking for bypasses, my 14s will be for sale soon. LT plans are in the trash can so I’m moving back to a smoothie.

:stirthepot: Archive has been excellent in communication and customer service with me. Hell, I even PM'd him TODAY Easter Sunday. Which is a holiday for most. He responded answering all my questions.

Got mine put on today. I wimped out and paid someone to do it. I have Dakars, I think my ride height went down slightly.

Funny story. My HH took a nice little hit trying to make it up a harder line up waterfall in box canyon & my Jeep buddy goes “you’re just on your hammer hangers” as the whole truck was about to rest entirely on one HH. Even he knows how insanely beefy the HH are and he wasn’t even remotely concerned about it with spotting me up and over. The “scratches” on the HH are just barely on the surface. Hardly even a flesh wound

Swap went smooth, all the bolt holes lined up perfectly. Same great ride. Lowered my rear about a quarter of an inch, which is what I also wanted. Thanks Eric!
I may swap to the high clearance crossbar next... Never done!

For anyone who has the version 1, I still have the 4.9” shackle for sale. Good for shorter leaf packs or if you’re piecing together your own SUA setup.

Would longer shackles allow for more droop on a SOA?

Really depends on the spring. It helped droop when I had Dakars because their short length allowed the shackle to rotate fully.

Ah. I'm not sure how much shorter the Dakar spring is than the icon. Icon is 54 inches eye to eye

It depends on the spring, RXT are short as well. If you have Hh version 3, you can move the hangers forward to stock position for short springs to get max droop, but understand the springs like Dakars will fan out and make axle wrap likely right when you need forward force on trail. Otherwise if you run Hh in rearmost position the 4.0 shackles will help about the same.

The height difference between stock shackles, 3.6 and 4.0 is very small,

Keep in mind this is discussing the difference between using all of a 12" shock, and accessing that last little 1-1.5" of droop to make use of 14" shocks. This makes no improvement to your bump travel, which is what I prioritize on the Tacoma.
